If you are talking in context of leaders that is. I do not support reservation of Jats as I think it doesnt address the core problem of declining agriculture and is a short-term measure. Moreover, the Jats (including Jat Sikhs) of upper Haryana have a higher agricultural income as compared to those of the lower districts, due to better canal system, proximity to rivers, etc. So they are not as badly affected by declining agriculture as others. I have no data, but this is my hypothesis.
But this is an interesting phenomenon to observe. How much would the state accommodate? Will the center budge too? What would be the sociological changes, say in 20 years time? I would love to see how this unfolds, purely as an academic pursuit.

सांगवान साहब शुरू से ही केंद्र में आरक्षण की मांग करते आये हैं अब अगर मुख्यमंत्री पहले राज्य में दे देते हैं तो वो एक अलग बात हैं परन्तु सांगवान साहब की मांग अभी भी केंद्र की हैं और इसके लिए कल 17 दिस्मबर 2012 को चंडीगढ़ में मुख्यमंत्री ने समिति व खापो को बुलाया हैं । बहुत अच्छी बात हैं की आप पिछले दो साल से आरक्षण को फॉलो कर रहे हैं पर मैं पिछले 4-5 साल से इस मुद्दे को नेट पर व ज़मीनी स्तर पर दोनों जगह पूरी तरह से फॉलो कर रहा हु । मुझे लगता हैं आपने सांगवान साहब के बयानों को पूरा फॉलो नहीं किया , आपने शायद सांगवान साहब का 24 अगस्त 2012 वाला ब्यान नहीं पढ़ा (पेज न . 19 व पोस्ट न . 368) जिसमे इस 27 % कौटे को बढा कर 32 करने के लिए अन्य पिछड़ी जातियों को साथ लेकर अलग से आन्दोलन करने के लिए कहा था परन्तु अब मुख्यमंत्री ने इसकेलिए न्यारा आन्दोलन करने से पहले ही हमे 10% आरक्षण दे दिया हैं तो उसकी जरुरत ही नहीं पड़ेगी । इस 50% से अधिक आरक्षण देने के लिए सरकार ने इंदिरा स्वाह्नी का हवाला दिया हैं , कुछ लोगो का मत हैं की यह कोर्ट में जायेगा , कोर्ट में तो 27% वाला भी जाता जैसे यूपी में गया था , अगर कोर्ट में जाता हैं तो उससे सरकार देखेगी सरकार का मामला हैं । अब रही बात सांगवान साहब की हुड्डा का समर्थन करने के आरोप की तो इसके पहले मैं चौधरी छोटुराम की नीति के बारे में बताना चाहूँगा , चौ छोटुराम हमेशा राज के साथ चलते थे और राज अंग्रेजो का था कांग्रेस का विरोध इसलिए करते थे की वो विपक्ष में थे और विपक्षी का काम हमेशा काम में टांग अड़ाने का होता हैं और सरकार का विरोध करने का होता हैं , अगर आपको काम लेना हैं तो राज से मिलके चलना होगा अकेले विरोध से कुछ नहीं होगा । जब हुड्डा साहब जैसा हम चाहते हैं वैसा कर रहे हैं तो फिर विरोध किस बात का विरोध जब करे तब वो टेढ़ा चलते हो ।
अब रही बात खापो की , यह तो समय ही बतायेगा की राजनीति सांगवान साहब कर रहे हैं या इस आन्दोलन की आड़ में कुछ नेता । वैसे तो खाप किसी एक जाति की नहीं होती खाप का काम होता हैं उसके क्षेत्र में बसने वाले 36 बिरादरी के हित का ध्यान रखना संस्कृति का ध्यान रखना। परन्तु आज के कुछ स्वार्थी लोगो ने खाप के मायने ही बदल दिए जिस कारण खाप पर तालिबानी जैसे आरोप लगते हैं , गाँव से जाकर शहरों में बसे लोग इनसे कटने लगे हैं इनके विरोध में खड़े होने लगे हैं । जाट आरक्षण आन्दोलन एक जातिगत आन्दोलन हैं जबकि खापो का जो असली आन्दोलन करने का हक बनता हैं वह हैं हिन्दू मैरिज एक्ट में संसोधन जिसके कारण आये दिन खापो पर ऑनर किलिंग , तालिबानी जैसे आरोप लग रहे हैं परन्तु आज तक उसके लिए खापों ने इका दूका पंचायत करके चिंता व्यक्त करके शांत हो गए । आज खापों को जाट आरक्षण की चिंता हो गई कोई इनसे पूछे की जब भजन लाल ने 1991 में जाटों का आरक्षण रद्द किया तब इन लोगो ने क्या किया ? उसके 21 बाद साल तक ये लोग कहा सो रहे थे ? जब आयोग अपनी सुनावाई कर रहा था तब खापों ने उसे कितने दस्तावेज दिए ? अब जब 4-5 साल की कड़ी मेहनत करके आरक्षण समिति जाट आरक्षण की मांग को इस मुकाम पर ले आई इसे एक आन्दोलन का रूप दिया तो कुछ लोग श्रेय के लिए इसमें कूद पड़े हैं तो कुछ लोग अपने राजनैतिक आकाओं के इशारे पर इसमें कूद पड़े हैं । रही यशपाल मलिक के विरोध की बात तो उनका विरोध करना लोगो को भड़काना बनता हैं क्योंकि पहली बात तो उनसे कोई मंत्री मुख्यमंत्री बात नहीं करता दूसरा खापों ने उनका बहिस्कार कर रखा हैं व तीसरा कारण अगर हरियाणा के लोग इस 10% आरक्षण से सहमत हो गए तो फिर ये अपनी रोटी कहा सकेंगे ?
अगर देखा जाए तो मुख्यमंत्री ने वैसा ही आरक्षण दिया हैं जैसा विपक्ष के नेता कह रहे थे , अब जो लोग कह रहे हैं की यह नहीं हो सकता तो उन्हें विपक्ष नेता से भी पूछना चाहिए की आप जो कह रहे हैं क्या वो हो सकता हैं ? अगर नहीं हो सकता तो फिर विपक्ष नेता सरकार से भी बड़े कसूरवार हैं जो कौम को सरेआम गुमराह कर रहे हैं ।
दबाव की राजनीति जरुरी हैं पर अकेला विरोध ठीक नहीं इसलिए असल में इन सबको मुख्यमंत्री के साथ मुलाक़ात कर इस 10% के बारे पूछना चाहिए की इसे कैसे लागु करेंगे केंद्र में कैसे करेंगे उसके बाद अगला कदम लेना चाहिए । लोगो को भड़काना आसान हैं पर उन्हे समझाना मुश्किल जैसा की इस बार के आंदोलन मे देखने को मिला था लोग इनके कहने से ट्रैक पर तो आ गए थे पर जब खापों ने उन्हे उठने को कहा तो लोगो ने साफ माना कर दिया था इसलिए आंदोलन होश मे होता हैं ना की अकेला जोश मे | सांगवान साहब ने अभी आयोग का जाट समाज के हक में रिपोर्ट देने व मुख्यमंत्री का इस रिपोर्ट को केबिनेट में पास करवाने के लिए धन्यवाद किया हैं आगे की रणनीति के लिए मुख्यमंत्री से मुलाक़ात के बाद की बात कही हैं । अब जो लोग सांगवान साहब पर इसके लिए आरोप लगा रहे हैं उन्हें या तो श्रेय की चिंता हैं या फिर उनके राजनैतिक आकाओं ने ऐसा करने को बोल हैं । वैसे कल खापों की व संघर्ष समिति की मुख्यमंत्री से मीटिंग हैं उसके बाद ही असली निर्णय सामान्य आएगा ।

अखिल भारतीय जाट आरक्षण संघर्ष समिति के प्रदेशाध्यक्ष पूर्व कमांडेंट हवाङ्क्षसह सांगवान ने पत्रकारों को बताया कि हरियाणा के मुख्यमंत्री ने हमारी संघर्ष समिति तथा खापों के प्रधानों को 17 दिसंबर को 12 बजे चंडीगढ़ स्थित अपने निवास पर पहुंचने का निमंत्रण दिया है। वहां वे केंद्र में जाटों के आरक्षण का खुलासा करेंगे तथा साथ-साथ हमारा संगठन और खापें मुख्यमंत्री जी का धन्यवाद भी करेंगी। सांगवान ने आगे बतलाया कि जाट समाज को बिल्कुल भी बहकने की आवश्यकता नहीं है क्योंकि कुछ लोग प्रचार कर रहे हैं कि हरियाणा के जाटों को ओबीसी में आरक्षण नहीं दिया, जबकि वे जानते नहीं हैं कि ओबीसी केवल केंद्र के लिए होती है, राज्य के लिए बीसी होती है और जाटों को तथा अन्य चार जातियों को स्पेशल बीसी में स्वीकार करके एक बहुत बड़ा कदम उठाया है, जिससे दूसरी पिछड़ी जातियों का किसी भी प्रकार नुकसान नहीं होगा। हरियाणा पिछड़ा आयोग की रिपोर्ट एक ऐतिहासिक दस्तावेज है, जिसके लिए आयोग के चेयरमैन तथा सभी सदस्य तथा हरियाणा के मुख्यमंत्री प्रशंसा के पात्र हैं। इसलिए सभी को उनका धन्यवाद करना चाहिए।
सांगवान ने आगे बतलाया कि हर जाति में कुछ लोग ऐसे होते हैं, न तो वे स्वयं जानते हैं, न कभी दूसरों की मानते हैं और ऐसे लोगों की जाट समाज में भी कोई कमी नहीं है। ऐसे लोग केवल विरोध करने के लिए पैदा होते हैं, उन्हें किसी भले और बुरे से कोई लेना-देना नहीं होता। ये वही लोग हैं, जब हमने मार्च 2011 में रेल रोको आंदोलन चलाया, तो हमें गैर सामाजिक तत्व कह रहे थे तो बाद में हमें बिका हुआ कहने लग रहे थे और लगातार हमारे खिलाफ दुष्प्रचार में जुटे रहे।
उनके साथ जिलाध्यक्ष कपूर सिंह धनाना, रघुबीर सिंह बूरा, कुलदीप फौगाट, जोगेंद्र तालू, जगत मिताथल, सूबेदार उमेदसिंह बामला, सूबेदार कलीराम, ओमपाल आर्य, सूबेदार सुमेर सिंह भांडवा, धर्मपाल अटेला, रणङ्क्षसह सांगवान, नंबरदार अत्तरसिंह अख्त्यारपुरा व डॉ. उमेदसिंह आदि उपस्थित थे।

Ex Commandant Hawa Singh Sangwan, President, Akhil Bhartiya Jat Arakshan Sangharsh Samittee Haryana Unit stated before the Press Reporters that their Sangharsh Samittee and the Presidents of the Khaps are invited by Ch. Bhupender Singh Hooda, Chief Minister of Haryana at his residence in Chandigarh on 17.12.2012 at 12 noon to give briefing regarding Jat reservation at central level as well as implementation the report of the Haryana Backward Class Commission. Sangwan further stated that their organization as well as the Khap Presidents would convey their thanks to the Hon’ble Chief Minister on the favourable report of the Commission.
Sangwan further stated that some people are misguiding the common man on the plea that the Jats have not been considered as an OBC in the state. Such people should know that the OBC is meant only for central reservation not for the state. At state level BC is only to confer backward status to the caste/castes recommended by the Commission. In Haryana, the Jats and three other castes have been considered as special BC, so that other BC castes should not be affected. The report of the Haryana Backward Class Commission is historical documents which stand in welfare of all the communities of Haryana state for which the Chairman of the Commission as well as all its members and the CM of Haryana deserve appreciation from all the quarters.

bhai agar aap ye keh rahe hai ki kuch log apne swarth ke liye rajneeti kar rahe hai to mai aaj apse eek baat poochna chahta hu.....agar apko yaad ho meerut mai jo rally hui thi ki arakahsan ke liye 2009 mai usmai 5lac jaat eekathaa hue....yee rally jat mahasabha ke under hui thi....lekin uske baad yashpal malik n sangwan sab dono jat mahasabha se alag ho gaye.....plz bataeyee woo alag kyo hue?doosri baaat ye bataoo ki jaato ka 10% mai faida hai yaa 27%mai?mai ye sab baatein isliye jaanta hu coz mai jat mahasabha ki meetings attend karta rehta hu n aur bhi bahut saari baatein mai jaanta hu jo mai yaha batungaa to thik nahi hoga.sangwan saab ko hooda se apni baatein manwani chahiye na ki unko hooda ki baatein maaannniii chahiye.....10% arakshan se aur communities ka to pata nahi but jaato ka kabhi bhala ni ho sakta......aap bol rahe ho abhi 10%se kaam chala loo phir andolan karke aur arakshan le leenge....aise cheezeeee barr barr nahi milti.......

जाट महासभा की सारी मीटिंग एट्ट्ण्ड की होती तो मन मे कोई सवाल ही नहीं आता | जाट महासभा से यशपाल मलिक और सांगवान साहब अलग क्यू हुए यह सब आपको यहा किसी ने किसी थ्रेयड मे मिल जाएगा और नहीं तो उनकी लिखी किताब मे मिल जाएगा उसके बाद यशपाल मलिक सांगवान अलग क्यू हुए उसका भी मिल जाएगा |
आपकी जानकारी के लिए बता दु की आरक्षण के लिए पिछड़ा वर्ग ए और बी दो वर्गो मे बांटा हुआ हैं । इसमे वर्ग ए के लिए 16% व वर्ग बी के लिए 11% आरक्षण हैं और जाट इस बी वर्ग मे आते , इस बी वर्ग मे पहले से यादव गुर्जर सैनी आदि जैसी कई बड़ी जातिया हैं | अब जाटो को जो यह स्पेशल बैक्वार्ड कोटे के तहत जो 10% आरक्षण दिया हैं इसमे जाटों के साथ सिक्ख जाट , बिशनोई ,रोड़ , त्यागी हैं | इन पाँच मे से दो तो जाट ही हैं और बिशनोई मे आधे से ज्यादा जाट हैं , वैसे भी हरियाणा मे बिशनोई रोड़ त्यागी की आबादी मुश्किल से 3-4 % हैं|अगर सरकार इस 10% की नोटिफ़िकेशन कर देती हैं तो जाटों के लिए इससे बढ़िया कुछ नहीं हैं | सरकार ने तो जो हम मांग रहे थे उससे भी ज्यादा दे दिया |
मैंने यह कब बोला की 10 से काम चला लो फिर आंदोलन करके और ले लेंगे ???? बात को ढंग से पढ़ा करो समझा करो यही समस्या हैं | वैसे आज के ताज़ा हालत बता दु , खापों के प्रवक्ता सूबे सिंह सामण का ब्यान हैं की अभी आंदोलन पर कल मुख्यमंत्री से मुलाकात के बाद तय होगा , हम उनसे मुलाकात करेंगे समझेंगे की यह 10% कैसे होगा केंद्र के लिए क्या किया हैं |
मान ले कल को यह सब भी आंदोलन से पीछे हट जाते हैं और इस 10% से सहमत हो जाते हैं फिर तो यह सब भी हुड्डा के समर्थक हुए !!!

कोई भी आंदोलन हो कभी भी राजनीतिक रंग नही लेता. अन्ना का उधारण ले लीजिए, जब तक सरकार और तंत्र के विरुद्ध लड़े आंदोलन आंदोलन था पर जैसे ही सिर्फ़ कांग्रेस्स के विरुध बाते शुरू की सिर्फ़ तो तंत्र विरुद्ध हो गया.
सत्ता के विरुध जाना आम है पर सत्ता मैं बैठे पार्टी के विरुद्ध जा कर एक आंदोलन को राजनीतिक रंग देना सिर्फ़ नेताओ(yes, neta and not andolankari) की मंशा दिखता है जो राजनीतिक महत्वकाँशाओ से प्ररित होती है और इसका जीता जागता उदाहरण है अरविंद केजरीवाल.

CHANDIGARH: Jats in Haryana have decided to go on an offensive and launch an agitation from Sunday despite Haryana government's assurances that their demand for reservation in government jobs and admission in educational institutions will be fulfilled. The agitators have announced to block all roads leading to Delhi from December 23.
The agitating jats will start marching towards Delhi from all across Haryana even as differences about the agitation among jat leaders have become apparent. Some leaders, including Hawa Singh Sangwan, said that they are happy with the efforts of Haryana government to provide reservation to community members.
The agitators have accused Hooda government of misleading the community on reservation while questioning how it will implement 10% reservation in jobs for jats when the Supreme Court ruling in Indira Sawhney case does not allow job reservation exceeding 50%.
This faction has demanded to include jats in the already existing list of OBC castes which provide 27% reservation in government jobs and admission in educational institutions.
Haryana government has in principle accepted the report of Haryana Backward Classes Commission, which has recently recommended 10% additional reservation for five castes -- jats, jat Sikhs, bishnois, rorr and tyagis -- in the category of special backward classes.
However, national president of Sanyukt Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti, H P S Parihar, said," "We want a clarification from Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, as to how the state government will implement 10% reservation because, with this special quota, the reservation percentage in the state will exceed 50%." The Supreme Court, in Indira Sahney case in 1992, has held that reservation in government jobs cannot exceed 50%, Parihar said. As per existing reservation structure, Haryana provides 20% quota for scheduled castes and 27% to backward classes. With 10% additional quota, the reservation percentage will reach 57%.
Meanwhile, Hawa Singh Sangwan, president of Akhil Bhartiya Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti, Haryana unit, said that the chief minister has invited leaders of the samiti and khaps on December 17 to discuss the issue. "We will express our gratitude to the chief minister for his efforts to ensure reservation to jats," he added.
'Quota above 50% possible'
A member of Haryana Backward Classes Commission, Jai Singh Bishnoi, said on Saturday that government may give more than 50% reservation after examining the provisions of para 810 of SC judgement in Indira Sawhney case[/COLOR]. "Tamil Nadu has already given 69% reservation while Rajasthan has planned to add 5% reservation for five communities - gujjar, gariya-lohar, gadriya, banjara and rebari (raika) - over and above the already existing 49% reservation in the state," Bishnoi said.

"Tamil Nadu has already given 69% reservation while Rajasthan has planned to add 5% reservation for five communities - gujjar, gariya-lohar, gadriya, banjara and rebari (raika) - over and above the already existing 49% reservation in the state," Bishnoi said.

The much-awaited relaunch of Jat agitation turned out to be a flop show with nearly 100 people turning up at Chottu Ram Park of Narwana, Jind, on Sunday morning.
Scheduled to start early morning, the protesters started marching to Delhi in the afternoon due to thin presence of
Jats. Interestingly, Sube Singh Samain, spokesperson for the Sarv Jat Khap Mahapanchayat, who had been grabbing the headlines for playing pivotal role in taking forward the agitation, was found missing from the venue.
Sensing the poor show, Nafe Singh Nain, president of the Sarv Jat Khap Mahapanchayat, called on the gathering and urged them not to lose heart as they belonged to a brave community that never retreated after vowing to fight for a cause.
When asked about prospects of the agitation's success, Samain told Hindustan Times over phone: "The cause is for the community and the agitation's success will depend on them. If majority of Jats support us then only we will be able to lay siege to Delhi."
Notably, leaders of the Sarv Jat Khap Mahapanchayat from old Rohtak region (comprising Rohtak, Sonepat and Jhajjar) had welcomed the Haryana Backward Classes Commission's recommendation of granting 10% special reservation to five castes, including Jats, while khap leaders from Jind, Bhiwani and Hisar struck a discordant note and vowed to relaunch their agitation.
Flagging off the march towards Delhi, Nain said delegations from Uklana, Karnal, Bhiwani (Dhanana village), and Hisar (Kranti chowk) had also started their march, led by leaders of khap panchayats, to the national capital.
Nain said: "We are apprehensive of the 10% reservation under the Special Backward Class category. If chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda clears our doubts after considering the 50% reservation cap fixed by the Supreme Court, we will stop protesting against the state government, but continue our agitation against the central government for reservation in government jobs."
He said: "Delegations from various corners of the state will reach the Haryana-New Delhi border by December 22 and will cease the supply of essential commodities from national highway 10 (Delhi-Rohtak), national highway 1 (Delhi-Ambala), national highway 8 (Delhi-Gurgaon)."
Om Parkash Maan, state president of the All-India Jat Mahasabha said: "The government will sense the heat of the agitation on December 23 when community members, led by khap mahapanchyats, will cease the supply of milk and vegetables to the national capital."
"If anyone turns violent, we will take back our agitation," Maan added.

Reservation more than 50% is against constitution. Will this special reservation also give discount in fees and age relexation?
I am not sure why we are praising Hooda that early. We should wait till this become a law.

तहत आरक्षण दिए जाने की मांग को लेकर हरियाणा के
जाट रविवार को दिल्ली रवाना हो गए। जाटों का जत्था
हरियाणा के सभी जिलों के साथ - साथ सब डिवीजनों और
कस्बों से भी रवाना हुआ है। इन जत्थों को खाप नेताओं
और जाट आरक्षण संघर्ष समिति के नेताओं ने झंडी
दिखाकर रवाना किया। हिसार से भी बड़ी सं या में जाट
दिल्ली के लिए पैदल रवाना हुए हैं।
यह जत्था सोमवार को मुंढाल में पड़ाव डालेगा। इसके बाद
जाट समाज के लोग 18 दिसंबर को खरकड़ा और 19
दिसंबर को बहु अकबरपुर होते हुए 20 दिसंबर को रोहतक में
जमा होंगे। उसके बाद सभी जत्था 22 दिसंबर को दिल्ली

बार आश्वासन देकर इस आंदोलन को समाप्त करवा देती
है। इस बार भी सरकार के इशारों पर कई लोग आंदोलन को
खत्म करने के लिए बयानबाजी कर रहे हैं। जाट समाज ऐसे
लोगों की बातों में नहीं आएगा। रामभगत मलिक ने कहा कि
जब तक उनको लिखित में ओबीसी कोटे में 27 प्रतिशत

You guys quote Choturam on each occasion and talk about jat ekta, jatland etc. But here everyone who is not in your group is a "flop show" and who is is a " Hit show". It get so confusing as to which Jat andolan is which and for what purpose.
One should be unbiased in his approach if he quote Chotu ram or Bhagat singh in each sentence.

Reservation above 50% is unconstitutional at center level not at state level. In AP and as well Tamilnadu already have it more than 50% which you can ascertain by yourself so there is nothing unconstitutional at state level if given in Haryana.

It is not a question of Hit or flop show but what is right or wrong. We all educated people and we have a mind that we need to use to decide on anything. You see the current decision by haryana govt as unconstitutional and i have facts which say it is constitutional and if that makes you think which andolan i'm in and which i'm not then i dont see any point in your questions because i have already made my stand clear

Quota row: Jats start foot march to Delhi
Members of the Jat community in Haryana, led by various Khaps, while launching a massive protest against the Centre and state government, started marching towards New Delhi on Sunday.
The community, which has been demanding reservation in government jobs and educational institutes, have threatened to block all entry and exit points to Delhi on December 23.
On Sunday, the Jats started marching towards Delhi from across Haryana and are expected to reach the Delhi border in a few days. After taking a brief halt at Rohtak on December 20, they would start agitation on the Delhi borders near Sonepat and Bahadurgarh on December 23, a spokesman of Jat Arakshan Sanghrash Samiti told PTI.
This is the second time, this year, that Jats have launched a massive stir demanding reservation. Despite the fact that the Haryana Backward Classes Commission (HCCB) had recommended a Special Backward Class status for Jats and four other castes — Rors, Jat Sikhs, Bishnois and Tyagis — which the state government has also accepted, the Jats have termed it as nothing but an eyewash.
“How will the state government implement 10 per cent reservation because with this special quota, the reservation percentage in Haryana will exceed 50 per cent. The Supreme Court does not approve of reservation beyond 50 per cent. Already, 49 per cent reservations exist. The state government will not be able to give reservation to us in the way they are claiming. But we will not budge. Reservation is our right and we will have it,” said Sube Singh, spokesperson of Sarvjat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti.
Om Prakash Mann, state chief of Jat Mahasabha, said: “We are not in favour of violence and thus, have chosen a protest march to convey our message to the Centre. Our agitation will continue till the government grants us adequate reservation. Jats from Bhiwani, Hisar, Palwal, Karnal, Rohtak, Panipat and Jhajjar have joined hands and have started marching towards Delhi.”
“Jats above 60 years of age, women and children will be taken to the Delhi borders in vehicles on December 22, while the other members of the community will walk the 50-150 km distance to Delhi,” said Rajmal, Jatu Khap chief.
The Haryana government has in principle accepted the HBCC report, which has recommended the inclusion of the five castes in the Special Backward Classes by giving them 10 per cent reservation, which would be in addition to 27 per cent reservation already being given to Backward Classes.
Haryana already provides 20 per cent quota in jobs for SCs, 27 per cent to Backward Classes and now with 10 per cent additional quota, the reservation percentage will reach 57 per cent.

The two main organisations spearheading the agitation, Sarvjat Khap Aarakshan Samiti and Jat Aarakashan Sangharsh Samiti, have rejected the recent announcement by the Haryana government that claimed to have accepted the report by the Haryana Backward Classes Commission to recommend a 10 per cent reservation to Jats and four other communities. It is “eyewash,” these organisations said, accusing the State government of attempting to mislead the people.
Sarvjat Khap Aarakshan Samiti chief Nafe Singh has said the announcement contravened the Supreme Court ruling that reservations could not go beyond 50 per cent. He said 22 per cent reservation already existed for the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes, the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) accounted for 27 per cent. He clarified that the Jats of Haryana had sought to be included in the 27 per cent category for the OBCs.
Providing details of the agitation, president of Jat Arakashan Sangharsh Samiti Ram Bhagat Malik said activists from Rohtak, Hisar, Sirsa, Jind and Fatehabad, would blockade Delhi at Bahadurgarh; while those from Ambala, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Panipat and Sonepat would picket the Kundli border. The Gurgaon side would be blocked from Gurgaon, Bhiwani and Bawal.
When reports last came in, the protesters had begun using every means of transport to reach the assembly points. Both Mr. Singh and Mr. Malik said the protesters would prevent all vehicular and commercial transport from entering and leaving Delhi. They warned the government, which has rushed additional security forces to deal with the situation, from using force to disrupt the proposed peaceful protest.
Haryana’s Brahmin Arakshan Sangharsh Samiti also announced a plan to organise a Statewide “rath yatra” from Monday to seek reservation for the community, which, he said, accounted for at least 15 per cent of the State’s population and was backward.
