Rohtak in news again for honor killing!!

I believe you are taking it the wrong way di, I am not saying girls are false victims all am saying is that to say only girls get victimized is a wrong assumption.

While the privileges are being misused by boys families, the law is being misused by some girl famlies too and I personally know a couple of instances, both in US and India.

A few months ago someone started a thred on Jatland as to how girls come to US after marriage, then fine a law suit and walk away with a huge childcare and alimony. I know one Jat living in DC area from Haryana who is being a victim in such a case, after years of marriage and a child his wife now wants to live on her own and is asking for divorce and alimony along with the huge house he owns.

This is a menace not just living in US but if you have your wife in India too. The NRI husbands gets harassed, tortured and blackmailed to give large amount of money as alimony and maintenance to their wives when dowry harassment cases are registered against them. Their plight is such that they can’t easily prove themselves innocent. Due to distance, as they are unable to deal properly with the authorities and legal procedures to prove their innocence. These NRIs are harassed when their arrest warrant are released to Interpol and embassy without doing any enquiry. In some cases, Indian authorities ask foreign embassies to cancel their visa also. When they arrive in India they are arrested at airports as criminals, their passports are seized and are stopped to go back to their job abroad. Some of them have severely suffered due to loss of their parents because of their mental harassments by police and court dealings. In such cases, the wife demands maintenance amount up to Rs. 50 thousand or even 1 Lac per month. This should justify the false case of dowry demand on husband who can pay Rs. 1 Lac every month as maintenance to his wife. They are not given child custody, whereas in west, around 50% husbands fight for child custody and win, where as wife has to prove that she is capable to raise the kids. Due to this harassment, the USA state Dept. has already issued warning to foreigners for not traveling for marriage to India. It is really unfortunate for India to depict such a horrific image internationally of Indian Legal System.

Sir kuch to raham Karo ...... Ye angrezi k bhari bharkam shbad the kam the yaha ki aap eb magnetic theory bhi tha laaye. Jat to seedhi saadhe simple bhasha k kayal btaaye. Only theory I remember is newton third law baaki kuch PTA nahi h sir. Please explain in simple words please!!

vikas in this particular example the wife is demanding her rights what's wrong In that ... If she has decided to live separately from the father of her child then she may have valid reasons behind it.i think I know her n if she is the same lady . Then she has suffered a lot in this marriage . Years of abuse!!

There is nothing wrong in asking for rights, until they dont sound blackmail.

Even if its blackmail, she must have been pushed into corner to chose that way. Think for a moment why a woman who decided to marry someone and then have child from the person should think of blackmailing him? Why should go that far ? I wonder if you have heard that woman's version first hand ? In my view she has all the rights to put claims for the sake of her son.

Generally after a child if female wants to take this extreme steps then i think she has already tried every other way to patch up , but normally without kids its not easy to judge who is wrong ... you can find plenty of examples with both scenarios

This is a sweet assumption that comes more from sympathy than fact . I can introduce you a couple of ladies who might change your opinion.

Well i said Generally and exceptions are every where but fro Jat ladies ( those who still respect our values ) specially after marriage and kids its not easy to take such steps

As if there was no mature person in their bade bujurgs, family, kunba, gali, panna, gaam, rishtedari, biradari. And they were still a few hours short of complete moral counselling course.... They surely would be getting their daily dose of moral counselling.....morning, afternoon, evening and night.

I am sure there would be many such mature persons but then why not even a single came forward to save there life. What happened to there maturity level .Why they became mute spectators to the killing. Why they could not make the duo understand there mistake.

They were not spectators, we call them instigators. Secondly from day one it to known to everyone that people who hold same gotra are brothers and sisters. It was a lapse from their families that they let it happen and later killed them brutally. From both ends no good has happened.

Remedy ??? is done in this case in terms of treatment metted out to the couple.
 
If you would like to evaluate one connotation of "honor" in human life or rather in human behavior, please refer to the comment I posted and the communication with others there after. You will get the hint of honor that we uphold as participants and as bystanders without even delving into the psychology of honor or the wrong side of honor-ego.
