I know the question is unexpected. Buddha was called by another name "Sakyamuni" - the wise man of the sakyas.
Sakya is Indian word for Scythians. Jats are supposed to be descended from Scythians.
Buddha belonged to Sakaya race that was certainly an Indo Iranian race (not a bihari tribe ).
Sakaya were so proud of their lineage that they tried to maintain racial purity of their blood which lead to a famous story of their mass murder and other stories regarding Buddha's Grand Parents. They considered themselves direct descendants of Manu Visvant which find mention in Iranian texts as such .
Now those who know Asko Parpola knows The great respect which this name commands in historical and archaeological circles .This historians and a famous Indologist have established that Sakyas were in fact the Sakas of Indo Iranian race .
Who were these Sakas??? these were the same people whom Greeks called Scythians and where they lived, is well explained by authors of periplus of Erythraean sea In First century BC ....................

Minnagara is mentioned in the 1st century CE
Periplus of the Erythraean Sea: The Periplus of the Erythraean Sea (Periplus Maris Erythraei ) is a Greek periplus, describing navigation and trading opportunities from Roman Egyptian ports like Berenice along the coast of the Red Sea, and others along East Africa and India. ...
<DL><DD>"Beyond this region (
Gedrosia), the continent making a wide curve from the east across the depths of the bays, there follows the coast district of
Scythia, which lies above toward the north; the whole marshy; from which flows down the river
Sinthus, the greatest of all the rivers that flow into the Erythraean Sea, bringing down an enormous volume of water (...) This river has seven mouths, very shallow and marshy, so that they are not navigable, except the one in the middle; at which by the shore, is the market-town,
Barbaricum. Before it there lies a small island, and inland behind it is the metropolis of Scythia, Minnagara."

Alternatively, "Nagara" being the Sanskrit word for "town", the city itself may have been called "Min", a name found in
Isidorus of Charax as a Scythian city in
Sakastan (Lassen).

How ever both Arabs and Greek historians know the other name of people controlling same area.....
Yes the other name of these people who controlled this area was
Jats.
The author of periplus wrote at another place that in Scythia rival parthian rulers tried to replace each other but greek authors clears that that racialy these rulers called themselves Azats ,How different AZats if from Jats any one can make a simple guess
Chiefs of Makrran itself is reported as Jats by Arbian authors whose decendant Harun later took part in Kasim invasions.
I need not quote the notes of Al masudi or Suleiman or Encyclopedia of Islam or for that matter Cunningham where the entire area from Makran in Iran towards Sindh river is reported under the rule of Jats .
We can discuss these issues but such discussions needs certain basic information about Jat History which many young people lack but are ready to pass witty comments .
