A Serious Matter....
Dear All,
The issue of increase in population is a very complex issue and should not be confused with the statements by the RSS Chief. I am no supporter of his but even a person with normal common sense would be alarmed at the demographic changes taking place in the country and the fact that population is indeed growing within particular communities (in the category of deprived sections of society). Add this with the issue of large-scale infiltration of Bangladeshis and you have a recipe for disaster. Also the growing Maoist threat in the country, presently 14 states and growing, is another area of concern. We had a report of Maoist activity in Haryana too. And all these issues are interconnected to one dissent or another. Be it the unequal distribution of land amongst the land less or religious fanaticism, the end result is internal bickering in the country and resultant weakening of the country. The result: increase in presence of security forces. That results in greater discontentment amongst the population. A vicious circle really. The role of powers that threaten to divide India yet again is very much obvious for those who want to see it.
“Lad ke liya hai Pakistan, Haans ke lein ge Hindustan” is a goal these powers are working for and the way the response of the Indian Union has been so far, mired in petty caste based politics, it seems that reality would strike us sooner than we are prepared for. We already have states racing ahead to give reservations to Muslims. Though few High Courts are trying to nip the problem in the bud by rejecting such orders, my fear is that you may soon have the legislative assemblies and the parliament enacting acts towards this purpose. After you can't ognore the Muslim vote, can you? Remember Shah Bano!
When one tries to see all these threats to our nationhood in the correct perspective, it is not difficult to surmise that increase in population is indeed a threat to our very existence. Today the condition is that all those sections of society, working class and mainly Hindus, who believe in population control are noticing that they have hardly any or reduced say in matters of the state. The main reason being that they would never vote en bloc. We have enough Mayavatis, Laloos, Paswans etc who are happy to be content in playing petty caste based politics, chaahe desh bhaad mein jayee.
If I risk doing a bit of ‘crystal gazing’ it is a very bleak future that I see. In 20 years time majority of the criminals would be these Bangaladeshis and they would control most of the crime with the help of local gangs. The element of ‘Jehad’ is not very far either. Kashmir problem wold not be solved because Musharraf is taking Mr Manmohan Singh for a ride and the funny part is that our PM doesn’t even know it. Shortage of water would result in inter state battles, if not war. This economic boom will only benefit about 5-10% of population, mostly that is English speaking and urban living. The ‘Village’ will remain as neglected as it has been for all these years (please don’t compare our village with those in other parts of India, we are still better off comparatively). Cycle wala Scooter aale ki pitayee karega or Scooter wala Car aale ki. Total social discontent. Who will control? Police! Ha ha, don't make me laugh. Vo peetne wale or pitne wale, dono se paisa leinge sirf case register karne ke liye. Who next? Armed Forces? Why are you making them into another police force? Fauj ke baski bhi baat koyna rahi. As I write this, at least Four Generals are in the process of getting court martial for selling Meat, Rum etc. Aise aise refugee general bana rakhein hain ki unki chalee to border pe plot kaat ke bhi bech deinge.
What is the remedy? I don’t see any. If someone has better insight please educate others.
Regards,
JS Malik
