What is Congress doing right?

Ironically, parties like BJP have also been using the 'Gandhi' brand name. Earlier, they had Mrs. Sanjay Gandhi (Menaka) in their fold as a Minister and now another prominent Gandhi from the same clan you have been so doggedly dubbing as 'fake Gandhis'. How come if Varun Gandhi joins BJP he becomes a real Gandhi and an icon of 'Hindu Nationalism'? Do Menaka and Varun Gandhi still continue to be 'fake Gandhis', or metamorphed into reals after their re-christening by BJP??? What is your take?

Sir ji, you yourself know that your question is misplaced, what more should i say? Varun gandhi never claimed M K Gandhi's legacy, so where is the question of him being a real or fake gandhi? Besides, he is not a hypocrite like so many other self appointed guardians of gandhian leagcy and philosophy.

Gandhi or No Gandhi, Sir, the larger question is which party asks for votes based on good governance and which one thrives on the insecurity, illiteracy and penury of its constituents?

Is it a mere coincidence that hardly an Congress ruled state figure in the most developing states? I have no personal bias against congress provided they can move beyond psuedo secularism and talk about "REAL" issues.

First of all I would like to congretulate mr Samar, vipin and Vikash for good efforts and being more closure to facts and understanding. Secondly I cosider it sin to call cogress as secular. Infact no political party in India is secular. Though, most of historical facts were distroyed or modified by congress but still from stories from eye witnesses of many incidents I heared and material I read, I feel even if the congress was not started under the initiative of Britishers but certainly they captured it through their loyals to divert the attention, divide the political strength and delay the political movement. I personally feel no political party in India today worth praise, all political leaders either were in congress or trained by congress or influenced by congress philosophy/thinking/culture or motivated by position, comforts, perks, enjoyment, wealth etc of congress leaders without doing any thing for the nation. Since bueorocracy well trained by the parties in power is permanent how can any change takes place. To me, more than political outfit, the real executive of Babus is need change. The time is approaching fast when public will understand the reality and revolt to create new thinking and new political outfit.

I completely agree with you that Congress has been and is a party of educated and socially active youth, ex-bureaucrats, academicians and line of policy makers.
This is what makes the party so organized and formidable.
Besides the Western political philosophers, we have our own Chanakya to inspire the politicians.

Two questions for you-

1) Does the developmental work done by other political parties reflect that Congress could have accelerated the growth and development of the country when it could?
2) Do the other political parties not play with the human behavior, emotions and psyche of the public whenever they get an opportunity? The biggest example being the Hindutva card by BJP.

(On a lighter note, spelling "Gandhi" as "Ghandhi" will not make the name any less influential)

1. Original Post itself answers first question where thread was assumed stating that Congress has been in power for 52 years. 12 years compared to 52 years is even not stands for comparision. If question is not asked in Centre government then yes Congress majorly ruled in states as well for early 20-35 years. Here development and policy making issues are mainly concerned with Centre govt.

2.Yes other partys certainly do but see the expertise gained over the time. Morever, Congress is covertly communal and overtly secular. Other party may not be that much able to manipulate. Congress's good is more than other party's good in this point.

Now an question for you and everyone else :-

How much good is right to stay and maintain power and government and why is it neccessary when general population think otherwise?

The question was- Could any other political party have done more than what Congress did in the 52 years?

You would think that Congress has perfected the art of fooling general public. So, people want change from Congress, but then change to "what"?

Oh okay.

Yes I am of the opinion that the another party would ve done better than congress. To add in to the same, I also believe that had it been leaders like Subhash Bose, Sardar Patel were in to top post except Nehru , it would ve been different. Considering Subash Bose in congress.

Yes, cretainly congress ve perfected the art. Absence of option should not mean that bad government shall continue. If people want change they should deny congress first and then ''what'' could come in scene. This option issue in my opinion is initial blot.

Zilch

Well some of the toughest questions have some of the simplest answers!!

And hence when you ask, What is Congress doing right?

The answer is:

Nothing, They never have!!

it is just like asking- agar langade ki tang hoti to kya kar leta.

We never talked about women empowerment or women reservation in parliament 4 decades back as there were not enough ladies in the fray but now more n more women are coming so question has come for the empowerment. Same case applies to congress as well, 3-4 decades no bodies gauged the performance/work of congress as they had the hegemony but now everyone is asking just like you. How good or bad someone had done , only time tells this.Looking back and seeing whether congress has done good/bad or right then answer is they would have done a lot better if they wanted to i.e.

Mahatma Gandhi resigning in 38/39 as per what he declared after his candidate lost for presidency
Nehru not going to UN for kashmir issue
Nehru deciding to test nuclear bomb in 60s
Indira signing a better shimla samjhauta
Sikhs massacre
Saha bano case..list is long so i have given a few

You are absolutely right-Hindsight is 20/20 provided you gain perfect understanding of the event that happenned by analyzing numbers/facts. My original post is saying the same thing- Even after doing so much wrong in the past, Congress has succeeded in dominating the Indian Politics? Would you say that general public's perception is so far removed from the facts that it enables Congress to succeed?
that is totally dependent on how you perceive it rather than checking the number/facts.
