I dont think it is unfair because they claim that they do the politics of ideology rather than riding on individuals.If you take that as true than it is fair as well.

Yes they don't ride on individual but they ride on a "family". Books on Nathu Ram, Nehru (Nehru's affairs), 1962 , blue star were banned so that the reputation of the family can be saved. Anyway what exactly is their ideology? And you think it doesn't matter who would be their PM as long as its from the party?

Narendra Modi is NDA's trump card for 2014 Lok Sabha polls
The UPA's tally is set to crash by 95 in the Lok Sabha elections for 2014, forecasts a Headlines Today-C-Voter opinion poll.
However, the biggest surprise is that the UPA's loss is not automatically translating to big gains for the NDA. The Opinion Poll is also the first to gauge the impact of Narendra Modi on the fortunes of the main alliances in 2014.
The survey was conducted to gauge public opinion as the Manmohan Singh government completes its ninth year in power. The lion's share of the seats would in fact be cornered by smaller parties which have not yet disclosed their cards.
While this alternative front looks set to bag as many as 68 more seats, the NDA might just add 27 more seats to its 2009 tally.
The Opinion Poll suggests that projecting Narendra Modi as the NDA's candidate for PM will lead to gains for the UPA but it will almost double the advantage for the NDA.
UPA will likely get 23 more seats and the NDA 41 if Modi is the NDA's PM face. Infact the JD(U)'s own tally could drop to half in Bihar if it dumps NDA over Modi.
And the BJP in Bihar can win 18 seats on its own if it does bite the bullet and project Modi.
BJP's big gain in Gujarat
Prime ministerial hopeful Narendra Modi would ensure the BJP's emphatic victory in home state Gujarat, the opinion poll suggests.
The party would better its tally by five seats taking its tally to 20, while the remaining seats might go to the Congress.

Although the scars of 2002 still remain but it was not just an enigma that more than 31 per cent of the Muslims voted for the BJP in the 2012 Assembly elections. Media has not yet realised this. The reality has not yet dawned that 6 out of 8 Muslim-majority constituencies were won by BJP candidates last December. And this momentum of the Muslims overwhelmingly voting for the BJP continued in the local elections of February 2013. Modi has given the Gujaratis the boon of peace and justice which money can't buy. There are number of reasons for the Muslims of Gujarat to move beyond the 2002 riots, primarily because in the 9 major cases of rioting and arson, the perpetrators of the crime were convicted, justice prevailed and the rule of law was established.
Recently, India's most well-known film script-writer Salim Khan (actor Salmaan Khan's father) has said to a senior journalist in an interview: "Does anyone remember who the chief minister of Maharashtra was during the Mumbai riots which were no less deadly than the Gujarat riots of 2002? Does anyone recall the name of the chief minister of UP during Malliana and Meerut riots or that of the Bihar CM when the Bhagalpur or Jamshedpur riots under Congress regimes took place? Do we hear names of earlier chief ministers of Gujarat under whose charge, hundreds of riots took place in post-Independence India? Does anyone remember who was in-charge of Delhi's security when the 1984 massacre of Sikhs took place in the capital of India? How come Narendra Modi has been singled out as the Devil Incarnate as if he personally carried out all the killings during the riots of 2002?" No speck of doubt about what Salim Khan has said.

Twelve percent of the voters wants Rahul as the next PM of the country. The Congress leader is followed by Manmohan Singh (6%), Sonia Gandhi (5%), Mayawati (3%) and BJP patriarch LK Advani (2%).
The figures show a major turnaround from 2009 when Modi had the support of just 2% of the voters with Manmohan Singh leading with 18%. Advani (15%), Sonia Gandhi (16%), Rahul (6%) and Mayawati (5%) were all much ahead of the Gujarat chief minister.

Contrary to popular belief Muslims in Gujarat are doing better
In 2006, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh appointed a high powered committee headed by Justice Rajinder Sachchar (former PM IK Gujral’s brother-in-law and former Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court.) to make detailed study of the economic, social and educational condition of the Muslims of the country.
The Sachchar Committee after completing the task submitted its report of over 400 pages. The report reveals that Muslims of Gujarat are well-off than the Muslims of other parts of India.
In terms of literacy level, Muslims in Gujarat stand at 73.5 percent as compared to the national average of 59.1 percent. The figure of the urban males is 76; it was 81 for those living in rural areas as compared to the national average of 70 and 67 respectively. (The Sachchar Committee report: Appendix table 4.1, Page No. 287)
Even Muslim women in urban areas of Gujarat have average literacy rate 05 point higher than the national average whereas women of rural Gujarat fare even better with a literacy rate of 57 percent as compared to the national average of 43 percent. (The Sachchar Committee report: Appendix table 4.1 b, Page No. 289)
Even in terms of share of Muslims in government job, it is 5.9 percent in Gujarat while it is 2.1 percent in West Bengal, 3.2 percent in Delhi and 4.4 percent in Maharashtra. (The Sachchar Committee report: Appendix table 9.4, Page No. 370)
This shows that despite all odds, Muslims have begun responding to Modi’s efforts. He is successfully distancing himself from the culprits of anti-Muslim riots, and this would pay him in the election.
