Who will form Popular Government in Delhi

The previously Chief Minister for just 49 days, Kejariwal is going to assume the post of C M of Delhi today.

As per reports, he along with 6 more of his party MLAs would take oath of office as CM of Delhi in Ram Lila Ground and will hold his first Cabinet Meeting at 4.30 p.m. today.

The high voltage drama of electioneering is over now and the real test for the AAP government to prove their commitments made so far will start from today onward.

Let us wait for adequate passage of time to judge the credibility of the party in power brought for five year term to fulfill the promises made.

It would also be interesting how the chemistry of AAP in power at Delhi and BJP in Centre works in making Delhi 'the world class modern city' as well as representative of upholder of ancient rich heritage and culture of India.

The role of other minor and marginalized political parties would also be under scanner of the people as how they react to the functioning of the new regime.

All in all, interesting food for thought and discussion for commentators is in offing !

Delhi political fate is now in hand of some groups
1.Bihari
2.Bengali
3.Poorbia
4.SC
5.Muslim ( all the sit in Delhi have at least 6% Muslim Population, some have 30 % and above).
6.Bania or Punjabi ( They can easily collect money from their community people for election support)

Earlier all the 5 were with Congress and now they are with AAP. Muslim main objective is to stop BJP and nothing to do with progress of country. They blindly voted for AAP.

Whichever party comes to power in Delhi, promises made by them to voters would not be easy to be fulfilled in view of enormous amount of funds needed. AAP and Congress manifesto and BJP vision document have raised the expectations of the people to sky high without telling from where the funds would flow from and also no time frame told.

It would create a tricky situation for the new NCR Government at Delhi.

Chief Minister without portfolio !

Another first of its kind. Kejariwal, the C M will not hold any specific department with him. [TV reports].

What does this mean, he will either have all the departments function unde his indirect control or will devote his full time to party organisation. The passage of time will unfold his strategy.

It will be interesting to see how AAP and BJP negotiate the work share between centre and state. I some times wonder how easily Arvind kejriwal made all those promises like free electricity, free water,Abolition Of Contract Labour, full statehood etc etc. fully knowing that any legislations passed by them in the assembly requires Lieutenant Governor’s approval and thus, the Centre. And upon that there is no time limit for its approval or rejection.

For Electricty and water, Delhi is dependent on other states. Its very hard to negotaite with power regulator for electricity tariff knowing that the regulator can get much higher rates from neighbour states. Other way is giving subsidies, that is not a long term solution.

More business centric approach and policies by centre govt. makes it difficult to pass a legislation on abolition of contract labour because if they do it for delhi all other contactor labour working on centre govt. projects and railways would demand the same.

Municipal corporations is controlled by BJP and congress. I dont know how AAP will get them to work when their own govt. can't.

Interesting times ahead in Delhi.
