(MOVED FROM "THIS IS WHY I HATE ISLAM..." FOR REASONS OF BETTER EXPOSURE!! Shri Rajendra Kumar Kalkhande and Shri Ravi Chaudhary kindly do not mind. Thanks for appreciating my humble attempt. Thanks also to all others who contributed in that thread especially Shri Sumit Dahiya who initiated the thread)

At the outset let me make an earnest request to the worthy members to be excused for trying my pen on a topic I am no authority on. Social science has never been my subject of study at any level. So the present effort is based on what I could perceive in day to day life including visits to the Jatland.com.
Reasons for what they are appear to be more of geographical in nature than religious.
As we know Islam originated in the Arab heartland and spread to other countries of Asia and Africa in the 7th century. In most of the areas that came under its influence from 7th century onwards did not have access to any kind of modern education. Many countries, except India and a few other countries, were very poor in natural resources until discovery of oil in the 20th century and thus did not attract the European colonisers. Most of the Muslim population, therefore, does not have exposure to the modern education which could have kindled the process of free thinking among its members. Many of us may be knowing that notwithstanding his stand on creation of Pakistan Mohamad Ali Jinnah was a free thinker because of the influence of modern education and was alleged (by his critics in the Muslim community—Rafiq Jakaria’s book may be read for further details) to have slighted Islamic tenets on more than one occasions. Fate of some uneducated muslim daring so to do can only be imagined even after half a century Jinnah did so . Stories about such instances from Afghanistan are available on this site. So I have no hesitation to say that lack of modern education is the first and foremost reason for their present position.
2. Secodly with the discovery of oil in the Arab/gulf region in the 20th century when easy money became available any motivation for getting modern education got buried deep in the desert. A new class of economically rich but socially poor emerged. Unfortunately, a part of the newly found easy money found its way among the Muslims outside the oil rich region in the form of charities. More unfortunately, most of this money is being used to fuel the flames of hatred against the non Muslims either by the secessionists or by the mullahs to serve their selfish ends. Pertinently the Quran Shareef, and I am delighted to say, has atleast one chapter (Ayat No 109) that speaks in conciliatory terms about followers of the other faiths.
Quote
The Disbelievers
109.1 O unbelievers!
109.2 I do not serve which you serve,
109.3 Nor do you serve Him Whom I serve:
109.4 Nor am I going to serve that which you serve,
109.5 Nor are you going to serve Him Whom I serve;
109.6 You shall have your religion and I shall have my religion.

So I firmly believe that their scripture commands them to adopt the principle of ‘live and let live’. These are the mullahs and secessionists that are misguiding them to the world of hatred , contempt and so called jehad in order to serve their selfish ends. Frankly speaking every religion has such kind of elements. Difference lies in the percentage. Among the Muslims this percentage is on very high side because of their educational backwardness and availability of easy money which make them relatively more vulnerable to negative propaganda.
3. Third and the last reason I believe is the monarchial or autocratic system of governance in most of Islamic countries. Needless to state that such system suppresses the seeds of free thought.
4. In view of above I personally feel that so long as they do not develop a taste for the modern scietific education and have access to easy money they are going to remain as they are. No body except they themselves can help them out of this.
5. Lastly about our reaction and attitude towards them. I personnaly feel we must refrain from falling into the tempetation of ‘hate for hate’. If we hate we are going to lose some how or the other and in some form or the other. I am not advocating that we should love them when they hate us. But there is something in between. They desreve pitty and not hate or contempt. Formidable is the word that should beat describe us to them.
Learned and worthy members may kindly like to comment.
