Women Reservation bill

Now days there is lot going on this women reservation bill, Soniaji is supporting it herself as it was Rajiv's dream.
When this govt was suppose to give 100 days report card they started a austerity drive and 100 days report card was no where to see. After the budget when opposition which are good for nothing started asking questions( which they in once a while) about price rise , internal security govt has brought this bill.

Are they really serious about women empowerment or is it just another way to hide there inability to provide good governance ?
 
Its like a new version of windows.. with some enhancments like rotating reservation etc.. Like all versions of windows sucks, woman reservation will create more divide in society as caste base reservation did.
 
I think it's a late but good step the govt has taken. Women representation should be in the proportion of their numbers in country which was not happening. Also, it's time for legislature to taste their own medicine i.e. reservation which they have been imposing on us for years :-).

कोए फरक नहीं पड़ना....

वोमन रेजेर्वेसन का 99 परसेंट असर यह होगा की जो फिलहाल एमपी एम् एल ए सें उनकी बहु बेटी लड़ेंगी इलेक्शन ...... बस.... और कोए फरक नहीं पड़ना ... वोह औरतें आज भी पॉवर में सें..... ( हरयाने का उदहारण ले ल्यो....मैडम आशा हूडा आज घाट पावरफुल स? एम् एल ए तो पाणी भरें सें उसके आगे .......अगर किलोई की सीट महिला आरक्षित हो गयी तो आशा हूडा ji लड़ेगी और घर की बहु...........न्यू की न्यू चौटाला बंधू करेंगे...) .....जो आज गोबर पाथ री सें वोह इस बिल के बाद भी गोबर पाथेंगी बेचारी.........

मेरा गाम सात आठ हज़ार की आबादी आला स .... पाछले पांच साल पहलाम जो सरपंची का इलेक्शन होया उस में महिला category का आरक्षण था...... एर जो सरपंच बनी ... उसके छोरे ने सरपंची चलाई पांच साल.... वा बेचारी तो खेत में तें सर पे सूखी लाकडी ल्याती मेंने देख ली..... कदे न फैसले करे उस ने गाम में......... बल्कि उसके छोरे ने सारा गाम "सरपंच" कहवे स..... या स हकीकत......

हाँ मेरे को पता है की बहुत से तर्क वितर्क हो सकते हैं मेरी इस बात पर.... लेकिन ज्यादातर फायदे जो गिनाये जा रहे हैं वोह सिर्फ किताबी हैं ....ground reality तो यही रहनी है ,.....

बिलकुल सही बात भाई अनिल, यो चुटुकला भी खूब चाल्या गामा में, जब सरपंच बणन का नंबर लुगाई का होया करता... सरपंची का काम फेर भी उसका घर आला ए करा करता; कोए आया था सरपंच के घर एर पूछा सरपंच कित सै? छोरा बोल्या "अक सरपंच तो गोबर पाथन जा रया सै|" :D

I think similar sentiments were expressed by Lalu Yadav... something like..' Rabri will not do anything without my permission.'

I really doubt if there will be any change in womens' status at grass root by providing them 33% reservation in LS. More than anything common folks attitude (thinking, mentality) towards women need a change (or two-three changes). :D

I agree with you buddy.. Reservation is like a giving wheel chair to physically challenged person. Work on woman empowerment by improving eduction, medical facilities, discourage dowry seekers, enrolling every girl to schools, make molestation and domestic violence laws more stringent and meaningful.

भाई सही कहा..... अगर यह सब मिल गया women को.... तो कोई जरुरत ही नहीं 33 परसेंट आरक्षण की... अपने आप अपना हक ले लेंगी..........

Inspite of the apprehensions expressed by some members about probability of its being misused by men-folk, reservation for the fairer sex was desirable to bring them at par with male folks. This step will help remove prevailing inequilibrium in male-female ratio in legislation. It was the duty of society to give women the desired tool in their hand to achieve equal status. Now it would be incumbent on them to keep this tool in their safe custody for proper use. If they fail to do so, the tool can be snatched away by the generations to come. Presently it is a right step in right direction.
 
Not A good option

The reservation in democratic instrument not looks good at all. Government should remove other reservation inspite of putting more like this women one.

This is not like a job that there will be 33% from all of the selected one will get the posts. But here we are already make a spatial differentiation and applying reservation to that area only harm democracy in all. A man and that also from general category cant even be candidate just because ruling parties ( a few people) want a lady from that area.

And rotation will make things worse as there is not accountability of any MLA or MP, they even be free of charm for next term.

Govt. Improves Living Standard = One or Two healthy,well educated Child/s in a family = Better Citizen of powerful India in next 10-20 Years(girls and boys both).

Govt. decrease Living Standard = Dozen of unhealthy,illiterate Childs in a family =We will have a India in same condition just as we have now.
 
A few good and fit for job women are better than 200 forcefully sitting ladies. And I dont like this Idea even We choose a Lady from our constituency this time.
 
You have raised a valid point.
But then, women reservation should have some impact, on the basis of same logic as reservation for OBC in different areas. It does not matter that OBC reservation does not help the people who actually deserve it, but it did help the "OBC" in general....Right?

Recently i was reading about a Lady MBA graduate who has worked for 5-6 MNC and now she is a sarpanch of a village in Rajasthan ans she is really doing a wonderful job as a sarpanch.
Instead of reservation i think we need girls/ladies/women who can take the path less traveled.

I think political parties have vote bank motto behind this more than anything. Otherwise they can give 33% tickets to women from their party n for that they dont need any bill to pass in rajya sabha or lok sabha.
 
I think it's a good move and now girls will be treated better than before (burden).

I still believe they could have done it in a better way I am not sure why they impose everything and divide the society. I think they would have done it voluntarily by givng many facilities to the corporate and other sectors for employing womens like tax break or infrastructure contribution.

One of our most powerful PM was woman, even now the most powerful person in the country is a woman, the president is woman, CM of the capital state of India is woman, the CM of a state which has given the most PMs is a woman, and apart from from that there have been other woman CMs, Mayors and so on. They were never outcasted so why do we need this woman reservation bill. Ab aur kitni power deni hai inhe,,,,,
 
A Big Leap towards Women Empowerment

By enacting or bringing the 108th Constitutional amendment regarding reservation of 33% seats in Parliament and State Legistative is a big leap towards the women empowerment. in this patriarchical society women has always been subjected to supression. It will enhance their particiption in governance of the country and be able to address the plight of the women in Parliament.
Although i am agree with those who have has expressed their feeling regarding that it will benefit women form well established families,
some might argued that it is still the men who take most of the decisions and women are mere proxies.But at least it will brought some change in genral attitude of the peoples towards women.Once they will be elected will be able to bringh the women issues in parliament, will influence policies favaring women at grass root levels.

Kadyan raised a very good point that 33% reservation would imply that about 180 male legislators will be uprooted from their constituencies every election. In their place, 180 women will be assigned those constituencies before every election. Then, at the time of the next election, when the new list of 180 reserved constituencies is declared BY LOTTERY SYSTEM, these 180 women will not be able to contest from the seats they are holding at that point of time because the same constituency cannot be reserved twice in succession.

Now out of 543 seats, 122 are reserved for SC/ST,181 will be for women and rest 240 unreserved. What does this imply?

बताओ, आज के दिन इस देश में "महिला आरक्षण" जरुरी स आक "महंगाई" पे काबू पाना?



जिस गरीब की दाल रोटी का जुगाड़ नहीं हो रहया उसने के मतलब महिला आरक्षण तें? ....

Virender ji,
By giving reservation won't help women to get rid of this burden word. We must remember always... Reservation is for weaker section of society.. Women need to empower.. Major chunk of our population (women) is not employable and not able to contribute towards nation's growth. Jab tak yoh dehaj, bahu ko baas main rakhna, Ladki ke ghar walaon ki rail bana ke rakhni, domestic violence, ladka-ladki main farak karna etc. rahenge.. woman empowerment possible nahin hai.. Day we get rid off all these things.. We'll take another step forward to build healthy society and strong nation.
