Oh....... see.......

Great! Great narrators, great innovative ideas, great solutions, great Biology & dash dash dash ! ;)

Well, the conclusion I drew is women can serve Alcohol, but on their own risk :o, coz the government is a blabbering machine with hands tied & 'Real men' being really dangerous & the proposed 'garment issues' seemingly typical to implement & carry on & many inherent, unimaginable, practical, genuine problems !!:( & all women becoming IPS sounds too monotonous & illogical too (I mean IPS Officers crying on the nails being out of shape, clashes with saas bahu soap timings........oh leave it....chaos ) & chromosomes........ dont know wat they have to do here, for this someone else may conclude!:) Well, let us conclude to start it again.........;)

well welll welllll

welll are we forgetting why BAR BALA culture in mumbai ended it was the exploitation of WOMEN ..... i dont know if women of jatland take it positive that dancing women on whom money is thrown and then later in night either they serve the clients / goons / don's / owners and staff

well please rembember the case was fought by hotel association not by anyone else ... its nothing but another "making fast buck opportunity" if all this opens in delhi and around many would swear here only that this needs to be stopped... though i personelly welcome this as its been ages sayin " BHAIYYA aek drink AUr " for a change " Madam aek drink aur lao na hic.... hiccc... " dosent sounds bad ... aawan dyo "BAR BALA CULTURE" nae dilli mei haaaan jab naach gana shuru hoga arrr Narri ka aek baar fayeda uthaya jayega jibbb ki jibbb dekhyange ... kyu jatland ki women activists .. am i wrong here ??? eibbb chahe koye kimmmey bool ley yuo tae honnna aae sei jae yuo sabb kamm implement ho gaya tae .... thorrey kehen taena howe khuch ... its been a well planned activity and see the reprecurssions as they come .....

bhaiya kabhi pacchhhey nae bhi jaaa kae dekh liya karo usme bhi aek MSG hoya karrey jibb dekkhho aek doosre key lattey taran nae tayyiyar ho jao sooo ....

well aek baat tae mei bhi kahunga isss biology aaley topic pey ... it seems its the GOD who has given power to MEN to decide the fate of the unborn ... wow that seems great .. . . .. .

Good discussion...

...I am glad that the discussion seems to be moving on nicely, even though I had been missing in action for a while! [was checking out the local bar scene here in Miami.... ;) Just kidding!]

BUT; what's this???....the conclusions have been here and there and all over the place! No real consensus either way...
Seems like some are all for the women's right for self determination and choosing of their work-places, while others call it 'exploitation', and while some others maintain that this would eventually lead to the collapse in the Bar-ethics and social structure (bar balaye etc. etc)...

So peopla what is it gonna be really?

Here are some points to ponder, when we say 'serving of Alcohol' it is not only bars we are talking about but Hotels, restaurants etc. etc. and on top of that one just needs to appeciate the workable models that have been going on in other states and parts of India, so the underlying point of the discussion is REALLY also about what is the lifestyle and social order of things in the Capital, Delhi...not to mention the law-order situation and the lack of respect for the opposite sex (women in this case) in most parts of North-India.... that in itself is what also comes up as some of the real issues under the pretext of having this debate, and so people; which ever way you look at it, all the posts pretty much point to the same ugly situation that I just wrote here.... that we have a long way to go to create equality on all platforms! Period!

Waise ab yhaan Alcohol ki baat chal hi rahee hai to suno...

Ek bolya, ake Bhaiyee - 'Rum' main Raam base,
to 'Whiskey' mein Vishnu bhagwaan, Agar 'Gin' mein Janki basee, to Bhaiyee 'Beer' mein base Veer-Hanumaan!

Tum hi kaho; Kiss-kiss botal sae bachun, jabb her botal mein Bhagwaan!!!.... ;):D:rolleyes:

shail it seems that you forgot most imp. point raised by me ... rather you thought it to be another source of laughter "BAR BALAYE" well we all will see to it that this culture enters delhi through this notification as the capital has allways tried to capitalise on theuniquest and strangest law weekneses and the way this has been fought it would turn out to be a sheild for mumbai and nation wide esteblishments ... that the women would serve in day light and otherwise it would be sex racket and other anti socitey activities going on under the MOON .. let us all wait and watch ... but as said earlier i again insist it is a very very welll planned activity ... but then if people would enjoy no harm ... least is bribing to police would stop and things would be cheaper ... like drinking in bars and all ... and so would be the result that most youths would avoid drinking in cars and all .......... so let's wait and watch the reprucurssions ... sum seem to be positive and some negetive ....

..Oh no, you have not been reading.... I also very clearly and legibly (hopefully) wrote for the points/issues raised as: ... 'while also some others maintain that this would eventually lead to the collapse in the Bar-ethics and social structure'... Hence your those 'Bar Balayein'!
(...and who said I was laughing???)

Now on a side note; explain to me how if anything this cumbersome, discriminatory and ancient Law is actually successful in ensuring that THAT kinda 'Balayein' culture is NOT already happening in Delhi........???

yuckkk

Yuckkk or u may call it anything "Cabrets" but thats the FACT ... and this is the start of it in our region and like i said lets see wot happens

moreso many would be aware that these cabretts were closed down few years back in delhi reasons gud /// bad

This terminology "bar balayein" is so yuckkkkkk...

well i agree to you that it still is happening but is restricted behind closed curtians .. it normally happens in farm houses and private places .... but then wot my worry is that if this kind of culture is legalised it would be in reach of every person and thus would result in social problem rest as allways i have been saying in this thread " lets wait and see wot this all turns out to be "

Are you talking about women serving alcohol OR women serving alcohol, doing mujra and soliciting / being pimped out. There is a huge difference between the two. The latter happens because it is deliberately sanctioned by the police - they want it to happen so that they can harass everybody in the process and make money. Like I said in my earlier post - this is about citizens rights - right of women to work in a profession of their choice. A regulation against women serving alcohol infringes upon those fundamental rights guarenteed in the Indian Constitution (which I think needs major improvements - thats a different topic altogether)

These are the six fundamental rights: source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fundamental_Rights_of_Indian_citizens

The six fundamental rights are:[1]
  1. Right to equality
  2. Right to freedom
  3. Right against exploitation
  4. Right to freedom of religion
  5. Cultural and educational rights
  6. Right to constitutional remedies
I dont have to be a judge or an expert on civil liberties to figure out that governmnet not allowing women to work in bars blatantly violates the first three. Somebody want to sue the government?

Some Toons!

Well, so okay how about we just enjoy some cartoons then....

Both are pretty much indictive of the topic being discussed here....in some ways....I think.... maybe....on the same lines, is it....or is it, women's lib....?....no, I mean.....how about; poor guys....or is it....heck....just have a good laugh!

well wait and waych dear ... we are talking about a nation where laws are defied ever single day ... just being a mute internet propoganist dosent help .. lts the situation of face the realities and i am repeating my words again "lets wait and watch" libreallism isnt that bad and for me also if women are given their rghts i would be the happiest person but then in terms of a server to male socity NO NO and No ... u all may be thinking that i am waging a war against women librellism but then u all have been an INDIAN an u all must have witnessed how and where the place of women is when met with actual terms of life ... i am not actually trying to score a point here my worry is that "another women exploitation wing does not get launched" rest work ur F *** ing brains out ....

hahahhaa

welll the Toons were hillarious

...Okay listen, your point is well taken; WE SHALL WAIT AND WATCH....but in the meantime if you don't mind can we continue discussing various other aspects on this topic???

Here's my two cents on your take: I Disagree! I most respectfully totally disagree that we should be cowed in by our traditional 'track-record' as a nation of 'exploiting individuals' to stop growth in any direction...hell, we will never do ANYTHING, anything if we start worrying about let's say; gender issues, religious issues, race issues, caste issues....which even you no doubt agree have been the bane of our nation, and have always in some way or form only inhibited progress never supported it and allowed one to 'think outside the box'...

Sure, even the upturning of this law (allowing women to be bartenders and servers of Alcohol) like any other bold stride; would have it exploiters too... I mean, geez.. you said it yourself, people ignore rules and law anyways in our Country under the protection of the law makers themselves, and so just like you automatically get a liquior underworld smuggling rackets by default and more booze when sale of liquior is banned in some state (read Haryana) for example, similiarily I think that instead of trying to stop something because it 'may' encourage crimes of other natures- legalization is probably a better policy to ensure enforceability... (with stringent operating laws) rather than turning a blind eye and (and hence the eventual expolitation by the police) of outlawed ventures!

My comments were not meant to be taken personally - I was merely asking you a question. I was talking in more general terms - citizens rights - not exclusively women's rights. I only believe in individual rights - the smallest minority - not group rights.

well my pont of view was that " One wouLLLLLLLd lead to another " in no ways i meant that it is a wrong take but then larger worry is if the second part comes into picture ...

As far as the citizen rights are concerned even i think alike but then we have a system where implementation has allways been a concern .. think about it for once
