डॉ. धर्मचंद्र विद्यालंकार[1] ने लिखा है....पश्चिमी उत्तर प्रदेश में कर्मकांड का पूर्णत: परित्याग बौद्ध धर्म के प्रभूत प्रभव के चलते हैं करने के ही कारण वही लोग त्यागी भी कहे जाते हैं. अतएव वैदिक कालीन जर्तगण ही पश्चिम से पूर्व और दक्षिण तक विस्तृत हुए हैं.

- Asa Ram Tyagi (Major) (02.01.1939 - 25.09.1965) was from village Fatehpur in .... Tehsil of Ghaziabad district in Uttar Pradesh. Major Asha Ram Tyagi fought 1965 Indo-Pak war (Battle of Dograi) in which he was awarded Veer Chakra for his bravery. Unit - 3 Jat Regiment (Dograi Batallion). He was found with six bullets in him. He had captured two Pakistani Tanks. He died with a smiling good bye to the second in command. He was awarded MVC posthumously.
