Sher-e-Dilli Sajjan Kumar hit by Intra Party Rivalry

Hi Friends

by nature "i think" i am pro BJP

but i had voted for sh. Sajjan Kumar also.

vijay

you have a poor knowledge in this regard, sajjan kumar ji was more of a leader of a south delhi side rural belt, wherein sahib singh ji had influence on the westeren/northern rural belt, and the slums and jugghis as you mentioned has allways been the strong hold of congress and not sajjan ji alone

shall we wait for a miracle to happen or shall we place the bet on the best man of ours in that situation.

it is not the question of the jat seat, the question is about the ignorence shown towards jats and their present status, agreed delimitation has changed the statistics but jats still happen to be a deciding factor in all 3 of these seats

ramesh has taken care of your last comment

opportunity tae aapkey gaam kehhenya tae bihari babbu nae mill ri sei, jat youth nae chod dyo bhai

he was the M.P. from one of the largest constituencies, he had a complete say on the ticket distribution of not only M.C.D. but Legeslative elections as well

ifsomeone does not know the worth of an individual it never means that such a person is nothing or anything, it is those who truly know the individual know the strengths and weeknesses of that person :)

Dabas Sahib
Thanks for corecting me about my knowledge and also thanks for the way u include my post in your reply because it shows your good work and your great knowledge of IT but still u could have done lot of alteration by merely changing the word u only include the sentense which were of your liking

as far as my poltical knowledge is concern no doubt i am quite new but most of the candidate in our are including MLA seats and MP seats are new and dont have knowledge of our area but we have to decide amongs them what a pitty the election comission is every time saying choose the candidate whom you like but dont gave us the freedom for that it only give us three four or more names and ask us to choose from them just i wish if it can happen that we have a blank voter slip and we name the candidate and then vote them and then they should count that will be the original election .now it is only conditions, candidate and convence then u have the freedom means only conditional freedom with convencing enflunce to choose candidate

And Why is That???

sir agreed, but let me tell you the sorry state of delhi jat today

we are feeling highly neglected by both BJP & Congress
we have been sidelined from main line politics
no ones seems to be caring for the jat factor anymore
the feeling is more like - jatton ka dilli mei aek tarah sei wajood hi khatam hogaya

is it sufficient to be disturbed ??? or we need more ?? more depressing is the fact that our own brothers are not understanding this fact and are using their free will to criticize ..... its actually bad

Dear Mr. Dabas,

Why are the Jats feeling neglected? To the best of my knowledge, the democratic system works on vote banks. I don't have extensive knowledge of the Delhi Villages, but generally, in a village a particular community is in majority. Now if, in a village Jats are in majority, and in their village administration they take care of only Jat families, then we have no reason to feel neglected for we do the same at village level to other communities.

On the other hand, if we in Jat majority villages take all other communities along, and do not discrimiante in village developmental projects, our elected leaders will have more say, at higher levels for they would be controlling the majority of votes.

To me, problem is not the BJB 0r Congress or Third Front/Fourth Front, the problem is our own elected leaders, whether it is the village level, district level or at State level. Once they get elected, they just get busy in making money. As far as the work for community is concerned, they do "Sifarish" of either their own relatives, or for the person who pays them the money. Actually, getting elelcted and getting work done (legal or illigal) through the corrupt government officials by taking money from the public is the job most elected representatives do.

Unfortunately, we have different standards of measuring the work of different people. We have a soft corner for our own community people however corrupt they may be, but do feel neglected if the elected leader is from another community.

I really don't know much, but for general public, it really does not matter whether Mr. Chautala runs the State of Haryana, or Mr. Bhajan Lal does it or any one else does it. It is the inner circle and the people who can pay money those get the work done.

Real work for us is to expose these people across the board, organize ourselves, and fight the corrupt officials and leaders. At the end of the day, it is the two square meals that matters to most people. Nation building is a complex, laborous process and needs sacrifice, commitment, focus and dedication to the cause. How many of us can do that is the question.

as far as the I.T. skills and my likes and dislikes are concerned please understand that it is a matter of personal choice that i exclude the major part of the referenced post just to make the post more readable and as it has been already put forwarded by the person there's no reason to repeat the whole thing in my reply, so just to make you comfortable this was done in the similar habit only and nothing like editing stuff :)

i agree with the view point you have expressed in your above post and to an extent i also feel the same, we have discussed this thing many a times here also in past, that we actually do not have a choice which we would like to make, but dear here we are discussing a particular case and not the political system of india, which according to all is nothing but an illusion of false democreacy and freedom

Dear Mr. Dabas,

sir,
you are an army man and i hope you are also aware of a simple theory - the best decision are taken on the field and not in the board rooms, because its the field which has maximum intensity level, and as in case you have also mentioned that you do not have the extensive knowledge of Delhi political system, therefore you may be missing something and also as i am aware you are also out of India and may be you are not catching all the vibes of present times in here, the whole purpose of my post was to make us all realise the current situation of Jats in Delhi.

Just FYI the outer Delhi seat known as Jat belt had been held by Jats for as far as i remember and now the seat has been divided into three different seats by merging some urban parts of the city after the delimitation process, the major part of these seats are still the rural areas and this seemed good as it meant more funds for our rural belt and the development work could have been more channelised towards rural areas as the facilities of a A class city are already present in half of the constituency, isn't it sad to know that Delhi dwells upon best sewerage system, press & concrete roads, bridges, mall's, 24X7 water & electricity, A.C. Buses, metro and what not but within the city limits and only 1-5 K.M. away from these highly developed areas there's a Delhi which has none of the above mentioned facility and many more which are rightfully ours, now talking about the three seats of rural Delhi.

one is reserved and both congress and BJP could not find the candidates from the constituency and imported candidates from outside, now here its not about jats but still sc/st tou hamarey har gaanv mei bhi khoob hai.

2nd seat of west delhi again both congress and BJP has given tickets to the sitting areas of rural part of constituency one is a punjabi and other one is a BIHARI, again the majority representation has not been considered.

3rd seat which we are discussing here was of a direct fight between sajjan kumar and whole of BJP and this was sure that no one could have beaten Sajjan Kumar here, in fact just for information parvesh was offered this seat but he also denied coz he knew his fate here, actually BJP till date is finding a candidate for this seat and so is congress now.

back to topic M.P.sajaan kumar was given not only clean chit but acquittal as well couple of years back only, it is this political opportunism by some in party and whole of opposition that he had to sacrifice this seat.

The opportunity to represent Delhi Jats by a Jat is now over, and like i said at the start of my post one has to be inside the arena to feel the heat of moment, i would like to add that the gravity of situation can be best understood by experiencing it.

i do not want to discuss the political idealism here on this thread because that has been done many a times in past and lets not merge two different subjects into one.

How About Independent!!

Dear Mr. Dabas,

I can see your frustration. My question is, if Mr. Sajjan Kumar is so popular, why can't he contest election as an independent candidate. It is only Congress that has denied the ticket to him. If he has done so much of work for the constituency, that no opposition party candidate want to contest against him, in that case, he is really not dependent on a particular party.

In any case, if his ticket has been cancelled by the party, he is unlikely to get any other high post based on his experience and standing within the congress party. His tainted image, may also not motivate the third front to make him as their candidate.

I guess, if he is so confident, then he should contest as an independent candidate. With likelyhood of a hung parliament, I feel he may be more powerful to represent his constituency as an independent and would be able to bargain more facilities for his own people.

I see, why can't he represent as an independent.

Sajjan Kumar - Fact profile

although i'm late on this thread, but i guess no one could have been better than me to throw more light on the facts pertaining to this thread, as i know sh. sajjan kr nd family very well frm personal quarters.

1. the "bhoot" of 84 riots killed the political career of sajjan kumar... having said so, i wud like to refrain frm the allegation of him being one of the accused of '84 riots. the charges were n'vr proven, hence he surely can be vindicated of the allegations tht killed his career.

2. sajjan kr, tytler, maken + few others (forgot names) were the young turks of congress and their records go back to "sanjay gandhi" era.

3. saheb singh verma was a brain-child of BJP to thwart the dominance of sajjan kr in outer delhi area. it may be noted tht sajjan kr ousted saheb singh twice (... if i remember correctly) in outer delhi MP elections, winning each time by more than 2 lac votes.
in fact saheb singh verma became a profile to reckon with, merely by standing against him in outer delhi MP elections, no one knew saheb singh before that... jaton ko to aapas mein khoont bajaan ki aadat jo hai. one gud thing tht emerged out of this "JAT" duel was the emergence of another JAT leader called late sh. saheb singh verma, who also served as CM of delhi... pipping more veteran madan lal khurana.

4. sajjan kr. was instrumental in ensuring ms. shiela dixit to the throne of CM and in those days was in the good books of ms. dixit. in fact the crown of CM'ship might wud have gone to sajjan kr had the 'bhoot' of '84 riots, not followed him. no wonder you could have seen sajjan kr. as CM of delhi at least twice if not thrice.

5. sajjan kumar has been well known for his loyalty towards congress in the delhi political arena... hence no question of him going independent. i guess he'll be better off again, by showing his loyalty for congress nd ensuring his son or another close associate being fielded frm south delhi constituency.

6. last but not the least, i wud surely like to concur (in 1st sense) with mr. balyan that "YES" there was a time when sajjan kumar was "sher-e-dilli"

i guess... i can keep my stand more or less as per the views of mr. sandesh dabas.

p.s. : ... hurried reply, cud have elaborated more on the subject (pls excuse !!!)

Dear uncle ji,

You have thought on same lines what i also thought initially... but there are problems in that:

1. No MP can do justice to people of his constituency unless he has access to resouces. Access to resources comes will with power and govt formation. So, even though Mr Sajjan Kumar will be able to fight and win as independent,...he will be dummy unless he is part of a party. Hence, here he is thinking about development and justice to people of his area and not just way to enter the "round building - Sansad Bhawan".

2. He is loyal to congress and people of his area. Had he not been, he would have ditched it long back and others definitely would have taken him. Lekin, you also know what kind of respect people get when they ditch one party and join another..... did you forget our very own Jat leader Natwal lal's case of BSP....

So the option you gave is not very easy and correct to implement !!!

Dear Mr. Anil Sangwan,

The point is, if you are independent in a hung parliament, you can get funds for your constituency. It might be difficult to get while you are in the ruling party, which is in power with the support of small parties and independents, or in the opposition. So, if he is popular in outer Delhi, as most of the people are mentioning, then why not contest as an independent. In any case with being loyal to the ruling party, one does not have to be an MP to work in society. I don't understand as to how would it be difficult to implement?

It is like mol-bhaav of one's values and opportunistic approach!! I am against these politicans winning as independent and charging money for voting for govt forming party to win vote of confidence..!!!!

You are Missing the Point!

It is like mol-bhaav of one's values and opportunistic approach!! I am against these politicans winning as independent and charging money for voting for govt forming party to win vote of confidence..!!!!

Dear Mr. Anil Sangwan,

You are missing the main point. I said funds for his constituency!!!! and not for his personal use. Each constituency deserves and is allotted the developmental funds, and that is what he should get for his area. May be he will be in the more bargaining power to get extra for his constituency in a hung parliament, then otherwise. The problem is that the most do it the way you understood it. But if Mr. Sajjan Kumar is as respected, and as honest as described by many members here on this forum, then why worry about that. All independent are not same and certainly you should not be comparing Mr. Sajjan Kumar with others since you know about him and hold him in great esteem.

But the problem is that most politicians, and civil servents (and in some cases even the military officers) take cuts from the contracts that they issue to the contractors. This leads to dilution of the project, poor workmanship and so on.

The good thing is that when you call some one with the title "Sher-E-Delhi", you really don't have to worry about these things for honesty is guaranteed, and perfect execution of the projects is expected/ensured.

good thing at last Ch. ramesh Kumar, younger brother of Ch. Sajjan Kumar has now been declared candidate from the same seat .........

now i guess all the speculations about his credibility and like why cant he stand and win as an independent candidate are over ...

now i guess my frustration levels are also down and i guess i was quite right to be frustrated over this issue, though i wish it was he himself who could contest and sweep the elections in his favor

good thing at last Ch. ramesh Kumar, younger brother of Ch. Sajjan Kumar has now been declared candidate from the same seat .........

i wud have loved to see his son contesting the elections... i'm all for young blood in politics, but the obvious reason(s) are personal in the family.

Interesting!!

Dear Members it is very interesting to note certain things about our discussion on this platform.

1. Ch. Charan Singh -------------------Ch. Ajit Singh ----------Good
2. Ch. Devi Lal ------------------------- Sh. Omprakash Chautala: Good
3. Sh Omprakash Chautala---------Sh. Ajay Chautala: Good
4. Sh. Bhupinder Hooda------------- Sh. Depender Hooda: Good
5. Ch. Bansi Lal -------------------------Sh. Surender Singh : Good
6. Sh. Sajjan Kumar-------------------Sh Ramesh Kumar: Good

7. Jawaharlal Nehru ----------------Indira Gandhi: Promoting dynastic rule
8. Indira Gandhi----------------------Rajiv Gandhi/Sanjay Gandhi: Promoting Dynastic Rule
and so on.

Do you think we are fair????

I am not against the gen x coming to politics from the political power houses, but what are the credentials of the successor, and how efficient he/she may be should be definitely an issue.

generation NEXT, whether you follow dynasty rule, or not, is still 1000 times better than the current "चोरों की जमात" tht we have in our set-up, baring few.

i wud have loved to see his son contesting the elections... i'm all for young blood in politics, but the obvious reason(s) are personal in the family.

same here, but he was denied due to lack of experience & exposure.

Ramesh Kumar had been a MLA in past and has contested many elections

1984 stuff/riots happened in 1984! that was 25 years ago!
Since last 25 years Indian judicial system has not been able to establish who was guilty and who was not! Is Indian judicial system a bad joke?

Congratulations to all Jats as Sh Ramesh Kumar ...brother of Sh Sajjan Kumar ji has got the ticket...and I am sure he will win it !!!!!
