Kabulpur Murder Mystery Solved
Girl blind in love with neighbor boy strangulated her family members along with lover. Mrder mystery solved on the forth day when Police told to media the it was Sonam the survivor of deceased family and her lover Navin Dagar. The Girl Sonam and his lover Naveen Dagar belong to same clan and have love affair from past few months. The relation between two was objected by family as they were brother and sister according to their clan and social customs. They noy procured the poison and girl mixed it with the flour at the time of food making in evening. After all the family members slept by the effect of poison Sonam along with Naveen strangulated 7 family members one by one. Both have confessed their crime and arrested by Rohtak Police

on a serious note - it becomes all more imperative to get the ammendment done in the hindu marriage act, cos the fear of law can (<<< pls note can, not 100%) provide at least some deterrent.
 
Brahm, incidents of same gotra marriage, in regions not favoring these alliances, are countable on hand. How much will "some deterrent" amount to? Not much I guess.

On another note, the families involved in honor killings have done a great honorable deed. The members of the khap should be vying with each other in marrying their relatives in these great families.

Aha!!! So this is why female foetacide/ infanticide is rampant......Else, she will grow up and make a guy fall in love with her, forget about honor or else make the guy forget the "honor" of the family, etc, etc, etc......

Anjoo, how do you connect female foeticide with this issue? Falling in love is OK. Some may even overlook the girl eloping with her boyfriend. But how can someone condone this massacre? This is a heinous crime. I too would kill such a child (not sure if this is the right word to use here).

An estimate for "some deterrent":
People wanting to break gotra customs = 0.01%
People wanting to break gotra customs AND fearing the law = 0.0001% (I am being very generous here, I still don't see how those who have shown their fearlessness by breaking gotra customs would be fearing the law which has several bypasses like conversion). That is still 30, for a population of 3 crore. One human life is precious, 30 lives are very precious.
 
Vivek, of course it is connected, just as "honor of jats" is connected to same-gotra marriage.....:)

Hmmmm.....and these 30 lives hold the honor of our community......and khaps are concerned about saving these 30 lives.....!!! I see the light now....

They are even less than the estimated counting as some of them are already killed.

Ladka "badgujar" se. Aade ek Badgujar member ne tahlka macha rakhya tha "Sampat Badgujar Deswal" ;)

Looks like it is time for
1. Select a Serv Khap leader for this issue.
2.Agree among community what is good for us and arrive to a conclusion, what we want, Amendment or no amendment, if amendment what exactly we expect from the whole community to follow. Khaps always resolve these issue by making a internal committee
3.3. Nominate spokesperson(s) for media and rest should not be allowed to represent us on this issue.

Our own people are getting killed and are facing murder charges and media is all about the ratings.
