.....and I very seriously condemn this way of condemning the way of demanding reservation by jats of any region. .

Right said Samar. I liked the sentence above.
Hooda and govt in center can not fool Jats anymore. I liked the way Jats returned from Hooda's residence in Delhi telling him that he will have to come on railway track to talk about reservation now. They will not come to his house or office again. This sends a strong signal to Hooda as he not the "Mr CM forever"... he will have to go and face the same set of people within next 3.5 years.

Give Jats in Haryana OBC status, says Hooda
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE

CHANDIGARH, Oct 22: Haryana Congress president Bhupinder Singh Hooda today demanded OBC status for Jats, Jat Sikhs, Bishnois, Tyagis and Rors.
In a statement here, Hooda said there should be no discrimination against Jats in Haryana when they had been accorded the OBC status in Rajasthan and Delhi.
He added that the Gurnam Singh Commission had recommended inclusion of Jats, Jat Sikhs, Bishnois and Rors in the list of OBC. The HPCC president asked Haryana Chief Minister Om Parkash Chatuala to clarify his stand on the recommendations of the commission.

"Chautala must inform whether he will accord the OBC status to these communities," he said.

He also congratulated Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and the Delhi Chief Minister for taking positive steps by conferring OBC status on Jats in their states.

Govt just want to potray the whole community as villain, to gain sympathy from rest of the India. Very Crooked sochh hai....

I am reminded of these lines I read somewhere long back:

गुलिस्ताँ को लहू की जरूरत पड़ी,
सबसे पहले ही गर्दन हमारी कटी !
फिर भी कहते हैं हमसे अहले-चमन
ये चमन है हमारा, तुम्हारा नहीं !!!

let me add one more stanza.

You mean you are the only one who belongs to Rajasthan at Jatland and you are the only one who knows how Jats got reservation in Rajasthan at Jatland?
There are many people from Rajasthan at Jatland and they do not need to pronounce it in every post.

Nope, but i hardly try to demoralize people and NEVER comment on specifically chosen people.
Moreover, I never deceit myself from my basic RESPONSIBILITIES.

Hats off to Shri Hawa Singh Sangwan ji for excellent leadership !!

Jat leaders seek written assurance from Hooda before ending stir
CHANDIGARH: Just hours after Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda announced that Jats had suspended their protests, leaders of the community said they would seek a written assurance from the government on reservation before withdrawing their stir.

The flip-flop between the community leaders and the Hooda government became evident on Saturday morning after one of the prominent Jat leaders said the decision to withdraw the protest would be taken by afternoon.

"We had a meeting with chief minister Hooda on Friday night. Hooda assured us that all our demands will be met in the coming days but still we have not ended our stir," Hawa Singh Sangwan, president of the Haryana Jat Arakshan Samiti, said.

"We are still evaluating the situation and waiting for a written assurance from the government. We cannot trust their verbal promises. We are holding meetings at various places in the state today and probably we can end the protest by noon," Sangwan added.

Hooda had claimed that Jat protesters have suspended their stir and would lift the blockade of railway tracks.

Jat community members have been protesting in Haryana for the last three weeks and have blocked rail tracks at several places. They are seeking reservation in government jobs for the community under the Other Backward Classes (OBC) quota.

The community had constituted a 31-member committee that held a meeting with Hooda on Friday night at Jind town, 220 km from here.

Hooda has agreed to set up a Haryana Backward Classes Commission within a month.

The commission would consider the demand of the communities of Roar, Jat, Jat Sikh, Tyagi, Bishnoi and any other community who wishes to be under the ambit of the backward classes in the state.

Besides Sangwan, Benayan Khap president Nafe Singh and representatives of other khaps (caste councils) attended the meeting.

The Jat leaders earlier held meetings with union Home Minister P. Chidambaram in New Delhi but the stalemate over giving them reservation under the OBC quota had continued.

The protesters, including women, children and the elderly, had blocked rail tracks at 15 points across Haryana. The worst affected were the districts of Hisar, Bhiwani and Jind.

Thousands of passengers were put to inconvenience as the authorities cancelled several trains passing through Haryana in the last three weeks.

The Jat leaders had earlier announced that they would block the Delhi-Ambala-Amritsar rail track if their demand was not met by March 25. The deadline ended Friday.

The leaders also warned that if their demands were not met by March 28, they would block all roads and rail tracks in Haryana, including those going to Delhi.

Only useless and incapable people can beg for such quota....those who dont have calibre are like those handicap people who need a wheelchair which i term as any kind of "Reservation or Quota"....i feel pity that i see Jats doing which i hate even thinking of....its so shameful...i am not been able to understand the psyche of such people....i feel pity for them....If we read history Jats were always giver and generous and yup they dint need anyone to support them or to take a stand for them....like everyone says Kalyug aa gaya hai :)

The fight is regarding justice. It's about ones rights. It's not fare that an exclusive share of opportunities be kept only for a section of underprivileged people. Yes, it's good to offer a helping hand to the underprivileged people, but the hand should not go only to few people of particular ethnicity.

These people are neither useless nor incapable. And yes they are very generous. Do an activity, visit two places a village and a big city, and ask for water in 3-4 houses. You will see the result yourself. In the village, the chances are that you would be offered a tea and or/milk as a bonus while in the city chances are that you would be seen from a skeptical eye and you may even have to return without a glass of water. I agree, exceptions would be there.

I suggest one of my earlier posts on the subjects for you, which is post #11 in the thread "Reservation for Jats: Your views". Link http://www.jatland.com/forums/showt...ats-Your-views&p=258986&viewfull=1#post258986

Putting ones opinion is good. It shows courage. However, putting an opinion without first understanding it her/him self is pure stupidity. Self analysis and ownership of ones views are some things that distinguishes an educated from a literate.

Deepika,
May be you do not need reservation (and you will continue to have that option…just don’t apply for that certificate or so called wheelchair), but you should respect their opinion to have that option …as you rightly said they feel handicap...but they are handicapped by an unfair system.

I support this movement. It’s not about me…it’s about rural youth and their future.

this is problem , today jats dont understand the condition of another jat, ghor kalyug aa gya ahai. Givinng an opinion in a a/c or heated room is the easiest thing to do and most of the people do that and you are just one of them. enjoy your self proclaimed giver status.

Title of this thread says... "Seriously condemn this way of demanding reservation by Jats of UP / Haryana!!" --- Dont you think this is not appropriate and increasing regionalism? Are we uniting Jats at this web platform or dividing them by using such terms....... This should be amended...... Moderators listening?

Deepika, You seem to be ignoring the simple fact that economic grievances and social discrimination is usually the root cause of any conflict in society. Government’s policy to address the undercurrent of this potential conflict in Indian society by introducing a caste-based reservation in jobs and promotions after independence was fundamentally flawed as it aimed at uplifting one caste at the cost of others which, visibly, had a great potential of further deepening the caste divide, thereby destroying the basic fiber of national unity and social harmony. What is the logic behind continuing the benefit of reservation to the next generations once the scheduled caste or OBC families become economically sound? Do you or the Govt. has an answer? There are, though, thousands of such examples but I give you just two examples. What was the justification of extending this benefit to Lok Sabha Speaker Smt. Meira Kumar, (a former IFS) if she happened to be daughter of a Cabinet Minister and Smt. Chitra Narayan, (another IFS) if she too happened to be a daughter of President of India (Shri K.R. Narayanan)? Did they really deserve reservation quota for getting inducted into IFS? Similarly, there are so many Meena and Poonia in IAS/IPS/IFS simply because of this discriminatory policy and their children will also avail this benefit and will eat into our share depriving our children for these premier jobs. It is not that the successive governments were oblivious of the perils of this flawed policy, but they conveniently ignored it as they did not want to risk their political future by losing a major chunk of their traditional vote bank.

The present struggle of Jats and their strategy is an attack on the flawed policy referred to above and they deserve appreciation for this rather than condemnation. They are not resorting to any violence and not causing any damage to public property Simply blocking the railway tract is much better than the above pressure tactics viz looting and burning. It has, however, caused economic loss but again government is responsible for it and not the Jats. During the agitation against Mandal Commission the scenario was much worse. Jats have kept the maximum restraint, surprisingly kept their cool and maintained peace. The agitation leaders, especially Shri Hawa Singh Sangwan and Yashpal Malik deserve admiration for this.

Dear Mr. Singh, I second your thoughts and opinion. We donot have any time to waste on any sort of opposition to reservation from within or outside the community. I am sure that whatever is expressed against the cause especially from within the community is merely a one odd case and just an abberration which is best left ignored and doesnot deserve our attention or deliberation.
