Rajpal ji,
The regional/local issues are more or less the same throughout the country across every state:
1. Good agricultural policies for the farmers.
2. Good industrial policy for the workers.
3. More job opportunities.
4. 24 hour electricity to homes, industries and fields.
5. 24 hour water supply to homes, industries and fields.
6. Good roads, drainage, sewage.
7. Better public transport.
8. Better and affordable housing.
9. Reasonably priced food (control on food inflation).
10. Better educational opportunities starting from primary to research level.
11. Reasonably priced medical facilities.
12. Cleaner and neater villages, towns and cities (citizens need to contribute towards this).
13. Better safety and security from internal and external threats (especially for the border states).
14. Steps for eradication of social evils like corruption, female foeticide, illiteracy, etc.
The overall national policy be it on security or development forms an umbrella of policies which directly affect all the above mentioned regional issues. This not only involved central govt. guidelines but also healthy competition amongst the states for progress on all the above points and many more.
All we have got from successive govts is just hollow promises. It's like thousands of crores of rupees going down river Ganga on programs for cleaning it. All the politicians and babus have filled their pockets on almost every other scheme be it MNREGA, Ganga Cleaning, Pradhanmantri Sadak yojna, etc. etc.

Thanks for a very good thought provoking post.
It would he appreciated if you could delineate some issues of national and state level importance on which the electorate could base their choices for bringing forward the right persons as their representatives. The issues must be related to the problems being faced by the people of Haryana and how to merge them with national issues as various political parties are enumerating them in different way.
