Rajpal ji,

The regional/local issues are more or less the same throughout the country across every state:

1. Good agricultural policies for the farmers.
2. Good industrial policy for the workers.
3. More job opportunities.
4. 24 hour electricity to homes, industries and fields.
5. 24 hour water supply to homes, industries and fields.
6. Good roads, drainage, sewage.
7. Better public transport.
8. Better and affordable housing.
9. Reasonably priced food (control on food inflation).
10. Better educational opportunities starting from primary to research level.
11. Reasonably priced medical facilities.
12. Cleaner and neater villages, towns and cities (citizens need to contribute towards this).
13. Better safety and security from internal and external threats (especially for the border states).
14. Steps for eradication of social evils like corruption, female foeticide, illiteracy, etc.

The overall national policy be it on security or development forms an umbrella of policies which directly affect all the above mentioned regional issues. This not only involved central govt. guidelines but also healthy competition amongst the states for progress on all the above points and many more.

All we have got from successive govts is just hollow promises. It's like thousands of crores of rupees going down river Ganga on programs for cleaning it. All the politicians and babus have filled their pockets on almost every other scheme be it MNREGA, Ganga Cleaning, Pradhanmantri Sadak yojna, etc. etc.

Thanks for a very good thought provoking post.

It would he appreciated if you could delineate some issues of national and state level importance on which the electorate could base their choices for bringing forward the right persons as their representatives. The issues must be related to the problems being faced by the people of Haryana and how to merge them with national issues as various political parties are enumerating them in different way.

From the numerous posts above, it seems that day in and day out we are guessing who or which party will form the govt. in Haryana.

But the larger question is which party will form govt. in all the states including Haryana that are going to the hustings.

I exhort all fellow members to choose between parties that are pseudo secular and parties that are truly secular (or at least they don't wear the secular badge or show it off). One party's PM said that one particular community has the first right over others on the nation's resources. The very same party came up with the communal violence bill which outrightly targets Hindus (including Jats). There is another party which turned a blind eye to molestation of girls by members of a particular community and which is still continuing with that policy. The politicians from these parties not only believe in symbolism by wearing skullcaps, they are breaking India by giving reservation on religious lines to a particular community (Congress, NCP, TMC, SP, etc.).

History has been a witness to the foolishness shown by the Hindus. We had great visionary rulers, but our people/general population lacked one thing - UNITY. We had the Jats under Maharaja Surajmal and Maharaja Ranjit Singh, Marathas under Chhatrapati Shivaji, Holkars in MP, but despite all the strength we were subjugated by the outside invaders be it the Mughals or the British.

No power in the world could have actually defeated the Indians (Hindus) if they had united against the foreign invaders. We say we have a rich history and heritage. What is so rich about it? We have a history of loot and plunder by outsiders over and over again for hundreds of years/centuries. We all know why and how the practice of Hindu marriages being conducted at night started during the mughal reign?

We as a society have never learnt from our past mistakes and refuse to do so even now. What do we want? ISIS type of situation in India being perpetrated by the misguided people?

It is time we rise above petty personal and political interests and caste/regional faultlines and galvanize/organize and stand behind BJP and present and potential allies of BJP (possibly INLD). I agree not everything is good in or about BJP. But at the moment that is our only hope to ensure that no Muzaffarnagar happens in future and to ensure that no brothers lose their lives while protecting/saving the dignity of their sister.

The situation has finally come to a 'make or break' point. If we still support such communal parties as the Khangress, NCP, TMC, SP, RJD, JD(U), our future generations will NEVER forgive us because we will again be just Jats, Marathas, Sikhs, etc fighting and losing our own individual wars against a united adversary.

“Excellent post” as I rate this note from Sh. AbhikRana Ji. He has combined different events and political philosophies as also their real faces in reference to Haryana and Jat society. Jats in and around Delhi remained almost indifferent towards almost all Delhi rulers, and the same attitude remained even after independence. There was no major shift in the thinking for the political party that gained power after independence. May be the trusts belied. Everyone tried to demarcate and sideline us creating fear sycophancy in the minds of other casts
The present day group of Jats holding positions in society and administration is not due to governmental supports (as we see for SC/ST/OBC/Minority etc) but it a result of silent social movements of our elders in the form of arya samajis, gau-shala parcharaks, bhajni’s, School/college/Gurukul establishment donation collectors who were none others but our own fathers/grand fathers. These honorable spread the message of education for every child particularly stressed for girls’ education. They cautioned us to beware of superstitions (अंधविश्वास) and other social evil customs (कुप्रथा).
The direction of the thread is to decide the level/position and role/say of our coming generations in social and administrative setup. We are not concentrating towards the singing songs of Jat Chaudhar in the name of a few political families. The writer is correct in his conclusion to some extent about BJP/Modi Ji “But at the moment that is our only hope” these lines also create apprehension in the minds of common Jat man; Shri Modi Ji belongs to the group that has been instrumental to alienate Jats from normal social set up and retarded us from the process of rise. Our merits were always ignored we were treated untouchables for passing on our due benefits.
My feelings are effected when I see military high rank officers bearing name plates of refugee clan; whereas they have no or negligible presence in the category of real soldiers’, I hardly find my blood as head of any governmental/ semi governmental/ multinational organizations that are numerous in numbers; writing the names of all those organizations is not possible for even a talented Jat, to name a few such are: All commercial banks, RBI, NABARD, IFFCO, KRIBHKO, GAIL, IOC, BHP, HPC, Steel Authority, NHPC, TRAI, BSNL, MHNL, Railways, NHB, NHAI, Airport Authority, Shipping Corpn, State Trading Corpn, LIC, GIC, Planning Commission, UGC, and the list can last long The most are seized by my refugee, Brahmins Bania brethren, I hardly find any Jat to name.
The only targets for our present young generations of the community should be work hard, take fullest level of education and latest high knowledge to act intelligently and tactfully with the intention to create OUR KABZA on the existing social, political, administrative system of the present day set-up We shall have to ignore many immaterial ego/thinking/differences etc.

Let us respect and help each other

Thanks and Ram Ram to all

Good points presented. But who is going to bell the proverbial cat ! No political party seems to come forward to fit the agenda !!

Haryana election is more about Jat vs Non-jat. Is it not a wise step to support a Jat candidate, irrespective of party(Ofcourse out of BJP/INLD/INC). I am voter in Bahadurgarh constituency, my vote will not go for BJP but to either of INLD or INC.

PS: Provided candidate should be honest.

They not only said so but led an angry demonstration before his residence at Mahendergarh and clashed with the supporters of the BJP chief.

Security of his house has been beefed up to save him from the anger of the BJP functionaries !!!

Unfortunately, considered as disciplined party BJP is turning towards most undisciplined lot in Haryana day by day.

The other day Sharada Rathaur, CPS, Government of Haryana, met Deepender Hooda, who declared that she had come back to Congress and would contest elections on Congress party's ticket.

But today, HPCC president, Ashok Tanwar said that her home coming is not acceptable to the party.

She is now caught into the web created by herself as where to go.

Earlier she is said to have approached BJP to seek nomination of the party and failed.

In Haryana we have tested the Congress, INLD, HVP, it is time that we test BJP either alone or with allies like INLD and SAD.

All the local issues that I have mentioned above are of utmost importance but what happens when the question comes to the very existence of society or community.

Congress believes that only one community has the first right over others in terms of resources.
Raul baba says that criminals visit temples.
Congress is still pushing for the Communal Violence Bill which outrightly targets Hindus.

Can we actually think of strengthening the hands of these people who want to promote the interests of just one particular community?

They are fooling the majority community because they know that the majority community is divided on the basis of caste and region and will ultimately vote for it. Whereas the minority community will only vote for someone who speaks for their rights and interests.

Who is the loser? People who vote for Congress and ultimately the nation.

If our society/community is in danger, the local issues do not matter. What good would a job, education or home be when we would be second class citizens in our own country? And for how long will our jobs and homes be secure in our hands because we don't have the first right over them as per the Congress.

It's been playing a very dirty game for over 60 years. For God's sake and for the sake of our future generations, we need to wipe it out in every elections be it at the national or the state level.

Our local issues are very much dependent on national issues being safeguarded.

Good points presented. But who is going to bell the proverbial cat ! No political party seems to come forward to fit the agenda !!

It'll be in the larger interest of Haryana to vouch for INLD. The arguments given are not much valid as Gujarat progressed when central government was different. Here we are concerned with our state government which must think for the betterment of the state first. BJP is okay at centre but strengthening it in Haryana will not be beneficial. Either Full MAJORITY TO INLD or force BJP to remain helpless without INLD.

Out of the 43 BJP candidates announced to contest Haryana Assembly elections, 5 are to loose their seats according to internal surveys conducted, said, Prof. Ganeshi Lal, BJP leader from Haryna at Fatehabad yesterday.
