on ndtv mr. anand of dhanana village declear that he give rs. 5 lac as bribe to congress mla ramkisan for the job of teacher in haryana and got the job.

[h=5]क्या ऐसा नहीं लगता कि कांग्रेस हम भारतीय लोगों का ध्यान वास्तविक मुद्दों से हटाकर कुछ फर्जी मुद्दों जैसे:-[/h][h=5]

The rampant corruption right under the nose (or rather the patronage) of our economist PM is actually making the lives of the common man tougher by the day.

Instead of ensuring that no one in his country sleeps hungry without a roof over his head, our economist PM had quipped that the prices of food commodities have spiraled because Indians have started eating more. Nothing can be more shameful than this comment because this comment would imply that Indians should remain malnourished to keep prices low. This statement by the learned economist is in stark contrast to the various reports by the UN agencies which show that the largest number of malnourished children reside in India. Similar is the fate of malnourished adults.

In order to silence, the outcry on diesel price hike, the govt. devised a ploy of increasing the rates by 50 paise per month, the end result being the same - diesel prices increase and along with it prices of the essential commodities including food increase. The govt. says that they are decontrolling the prices - there will be no govt. control. An honest govt. decontrol would entail no taxes on petroleum products. If there is no govt. control or interference on petroleum products, why is the govt. interfering with the taxes?? Let the prices be solely determined by the principle of demand and supply. If there is decontrol, how come prices are never increased immediately prior to the elections. This decontrol ploy by the govt. is nothing but an eyewash to keep milking the common man one way or the other.

Indians are one of the most heavily taxed people in the world. We are taxed at every level and for almost every product and service (including education, medical services, shelter, food, etc). The manufacturer of raw material pays registration tax and taxes on purchase of raw material and machinery. The manufacturer of finished product pays taxes on the raw materials purchased and on the machinery purchased. The wholesaler pays taxes on the purchase of the finished product. The layers of retailers pay taxes on their respective purchases and finally the end consumer is the one who is made to pay for all those taxes from beginning to end. This is true for a matchbox to a plane and true for an Ambani to a beggar on the street if he goes to purchase a matchbox. The question that arises is that despite so many taxes like sales, excise, service, etc., the govt. at the end of the day says that it does not have the money. Where is all the tax payers' money going???????

When the govt. increases taxes on the already burdened common man, the industrialists call it development and reforms, but when there is even a slight talk of increasing taxes on the industrialists, the industrialists cry hoarse and call it a retrograde step. Is this not corporate greed? Which model of development is it - snatching the roti from the plate of the aam admi increasing the price of food and reducing the number of gas cylinders? Most of the governmental business policy
formulation panels have the likes of Ambanis, Birlas, Mahindras, Tatas and on expected lines, the govt. policies are framed to fill the coffers of these industrialists. Each industrialist floats numerous group companies where the profit of one is adjusted against the loss of the other, thereby bringing their tax liability to zero. Some would say they generate employment - which to a large extent is a misnomer. Most of the employees of these industrialists are contract labour/employees who are poorly paid and can be fired at will. There is widespread exploitation of these contract labour with not only hire & fire being the norm, but also unreasonable deductions from the already delayed salary/wage payments. Yes, there is the labour inspector, but he is well taken care of by the industrialist. After all it makes sense economically to keep one labour inspector happy than the thousands of labour.

The govt. says that it aims at 9 percent GDP growth. But what good are these numbers (9 percent or 5 percent) than mere statistical numbers when countless Indians on the streets go unfed and without roof over their heads (as per UN reports). There are countless Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi socialist schemes in the country with absolutely no accountability for the billions of rupees that are being channeled for those schemes out of the pockets of the common man. If at all the CAG conducts an audit, that audit is outrightly rejected and discarded by the govt. because as per the govt. the CAG is nothing but a mere accountant. This mismanagement (loot) is hurting the nation as well- Indian defence expenditure slashed by Rs. 10,000 crore thereby affecting crucial defence acquisitions.

Why is this govt. hell bent on creating two India's - One called India and the other called Bharat. We in fact are a rich country with poor people. Although almost all politicians of all political parties are corrupt, but the Congress having been power for almost 60 years deserves the lion's share of the blame by having set wrong precedents/examples over all these decades AND shamelessly is still not stopping - One scam after another.

It's a good decision by government to raise diesel prices. Govt should refrain from such subsidies, handouts etc. It increases debt. Diesel prices are higher in international market. So better off sell at that price rather than subsidizing it.

Not true at all. Taxes are higher in developed countries. In fact you should ask how many people/businesses pay taxes in India.
Your argument is not fully correct. India is still not that competitive in doing business. Poor infrastructure, government regulations etc make business less favorable. On top of it, parties like BJP, left etc are there to stall reforms. For example, FDI in retail. You also quoted about surge in casual and contract employment. That is because of labor laws. Strict labor laws prevent an employer to hire permanent staff. So reforms needs to be done into labor laws so that business can easily hire and fire employees based on business circumstances. This reform will help in generating employment. Also other reforms can be made in that direction for employment generation.
The govt. says that it aims at 9 percent GDP growth. But what good are these numbers (9 percent or 5 percent) than mere statistical numbers when countless Indians on the streets go unfed and without roof over their heads (as per UN reports). Poor global economic outlook is largely responsible for this. Lot of investment decisions are on hold. India is now also dependent on global economy. Grim outlook in Europe and US has put an impact on world's economy. India cannot perform well without these economies. However, government still can take many steps to deregulate etc. Other factor you also need to consider is that India is a democracy. Unlike China, authorities in India cannot enforce things at their will. Lot of projects do not get clearances due to problem with land acquisitions, opposition parties conspiratorial theory of protectionism etc. For example POSCO is willing to invest about $12 billion in Orrisa. They proposed this investment back in 2005. Until now government is struggling to acquire land for plant setup(http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-21335300). Parties like CPI(M) successfully sold their theory of deadly protectionism.

Yes inclusive growth is missing. But without a healthy GDP, government can't spend money on welfare program mes. Similarly without a healthy GDP, jobs cannot be created.

It's a good decision by government to raise diesel prices. Govt should refrain from such subsidies, handouts etc. It increases debt. Diesel prices are higher in international market. So better off sell at that price rather than subsidizing it.

Further, Diesel subsidy was used more by those who did not need it e.g. SUVs and Industries. Nearly 16% of diesel is consumed by passenger vehicles, 4.6% by gensets and 2% by mobile towers, translating into a likely subsidy of Rs 23,000 crore for this fiscal.
Those who really need the subsidy will get it through schemes like Aadhar.

There is a parallel economy running in this country right under the nose and patronage of the govt.

What is the reason for increase in the food prices? How much of the food articles imported? What percentage of the average vegetable price attributable to hafta to the local corporator, MCD, police-wallah? How much and how many palms have to be greased by the truck-wallahs who transport essential commodities across the country?

And still we blame JUST outside market forces for all the price rise.

Increase in tax burden on the common man is reforms and development, but the same increase for industrialists is a strict NO-NO. Why cannot the industrialists reduce their profit margins because as it is, they pass the tax burden on the industry on to the consumers? The govt. solely functions as the commission agents for these industrialists. In any strike the workers are dealt with a heavy hand, but the govt. does not look into the reasons for the discontent and dissatisfaction amongst the workers. The local labour departments are kept happy and satiated by these industrialists.

All the austerity measures and taxes for the common man, but why no austerity for the govt? Why are we tolerating the burden of such a bloated and large govt. machinery? Just to accomodate the ambitious political heavyweights and their followers in some or the other ministry? Why do we need to have so many ministries, govt. departments and agencies when almost everything has been privatised?

Why do these ministers live in King size bungalows with an army of housekeeping and security personnel? Why don't all of them live in 2 - 3 high rise buildings in a secure area. Why do they need skoda and mercedes when the local built Ambassadors serve the purpose of comfort and sturdiness well? Why do they need to take medication from private hospitals in India and abroad instead of the General Hospitals where the common man goes? Why do they need to travel in private/IAF planes and in Rajdhani Express when they can very well do with regular flights and first class train travel?

Have we ever demanded any of these things from the politicians? NO we are happy (in fact obsessed) with the fair skinned and young (at the age of 42) people from India's first/royal family. They are born with a divine right to rule us.

Finally, more than anything else stalling economic and social progress in this country is CORRUPTION instead of Anna or Kejriwal as some would like others to believe. No matter how much they tax us, they will never have enough money with their bottomless collection bags. A case in point is that India ranks 132 out of a total 185 countries when it comes to the ease of doing business in a country.

For the information of all the GOOGLE MEN out there, this is as per the World Bank, the link for which is as given below:

Inspite of acknolowdging all this you were aginst FDI in multi-brand retail?

Why cannot the industrialists reduce their profit margins because as it is, they pass the tax burden on the industry on to the consumers?

I am unaware of this aspect of economics, please throw-in some more details

Why do we need to have so many ministries, govt. departments and agencies when almost everything has been privatised?

I thought you were against private institutions, you yourself said above that private institutions or industrialists aim to make money and put the blame on people and here you are promoting privatisation... errr, confused? I am.

Anyways, a simple answer is to keep a check on those institutions. TRAI is a fine example who keeps a check on telecom industry.

Ek hi ullu kaafi hai barbad-e-chaman karne ko, har shaakh pe ullu baitha hai anjaame gulistan kya hoga?

Vajpayee's PMO tweaked deal in 2003, claims former air chief

Former air chief SP Tyagi, whose name surfaced as a bribe-taker in the Rs. 3,760-crore VVIP chopper deal, claimed on Wednesday that tender parameters were changed by the NDA regime at the behest of Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s PMO in 2003 — before he took over as the air chief — to favour Finmeccanica of Italy.

Italian investigators have alleged that Tyagi was bribed through his cousins to change the tender requirements to help the company secure the contract for 12 AgustaWestland helicopters.

This makes the situation even murkier as the BJP planned to corner the government in the budget session.

This is shameful. Defense is an arm we usually keep in higher regards than others and its extremely disappointing to see ex-defense folks involved in murky deals and scams. This isn't the first time and its always some cousins or friends of armed forces chiefs involved as middle men in deals. I guess when all other arms of the society have been known to be corrupt, its naive and futile to expect the armed forces to uphold the highest standards.

u r too much mister desi. blaming bajpayee just for sake of it. bullshit

BJP to Supreme Court ki supervision mai enquiry ki demand kar ruhi hai... or SC se request kar ruhi hai ki investigation ko apne haath mai le... but Congress ne CBI laga di hai investigation karne k liye...

Bhai ghapla to jaroor hai or kiya bhi congress ne hi hai... but single out karne wale do hi log hain... pehla Digvijay Singh or doosra... JL ka Digvijay Singh... (samajh to gaya hi hoga...)

Is deal ka connection "Italy" se hai.. Bofors ka bhi wahi se tha.. Kuch na kuch ghapadchoth to hui hai UPA ki sarkar me bhi. akele BJP ko single out kyu karna??

Bhai Sanjeev, BJP ke time me hi tender announce hua tha.. to kuch na kuch hath to BJP ka bhi raha hi hoga. BJP bhi bhali naa hai. Mera kahne ka matlab itna hi tha ki akeli BJP ke upar sara dosh lagana thik nahi hai kyuki 2004 se kaangrease ki sarkar hai aur unhone is deal ko ache se dekha hoga jarur. Fir bhi koi action nahi liya (gadbad ho rhi thi to). Also it was Kaangrease who approved the deal in 2010. Enquiry should be done at the earliest.

kutto billi main sunane ki adat ladkio ki hoti hai, khair aage to tu samajh gaya hoga ;) ;)

Anyways on your note- SC never investigates, it is meant to evaluate a judgement and rule out and that is why this Arvind Kejriwal styled demand from BJP - Na nau man tel hoga na radha nachegi. And since this involves BJP more than congress, BJP can easily rule out CBIs investigation, a pre-planned move.

On a similar note, you think BJP has never been corrupt?

thanks for the info... which was not required and never asked for... "SC never investigates"...
lakin SC ek SIT to bana hi sakti hai hai or investigation SC ki supervision mai to ho sakti hai... jaise Modi ki hui hai... aise Chopper Scam ya baki Scams ki kyon nahi ho sakti...
