Even after 47 years, how prepared we are to face China??

My dear karan, tactics of all the Defence forces is known to each other & practically is same.
Sir
Not true. If everyone knew each others tactics then we will have a trench warfare. If that was the case, then Capt Kengrusu of Jat Regt in Kargil war would not have succeeded. It was his thinking outside the box that led to the demise of pakis on one of the peaks. Pakis were thinking IA would launch a frontal assault and they would play chicken with our troops.

But what really makes difference is:-

It is not the weapon but the man behind the weapon wins the battle. our man is much batter but our National management is weak, selfish & our public is divided & not security minded, also we donot have national character donot exists.
No offense sir, those times have gone. If a man doesn't know how to operate a weapon he is a liability and drag on everyone. I know how you are baiting me into this discussion, soon you will drag US military's example of their mighty technology unable to defeat terrorists, that is a different discussion. Awareness of your enemy gives you tactical advantage. I am no Military Officer, I am one of those people who provide information to military commanders, what they do with that is their problem.

Let me try my luck for the forth times, if I succeed to reply . First of all very Happy Diwali to mr karan s , his all family members, friends & all Indians in US. Now coming back to the above post, karan you have totally supported my views. I agree with you that you are really not aware of the subject, it is not your mistake, it is not so easy to understand the warfare, tactics & comments/statements on these subjects. An information becomes intelligence after so many actions/efforts. Brother I never ment man as a big body living animal, but an efficient, dedicated, sincere, intelligent, fully motivated, well informed, well trained, who can understand the warfare/tactics of own forces& the enemy, who can convert the information into reliable information, who can plan & execute well, who can make best use of available resources, who can read the battle well, who can think ahead, who can take timely decisions, who can react positively & quickly against unplanned situations & who can achieve surprise, mostly wins war. I hope you know that surprise is the biggest weapon. It is a very big toppic to talk, brother capt you hae named is also a man & not a weapon. Since you have mentioned that you are supplying information to Army, in that case you must be knowing that basic tactics, other technics of warfare, resources & characterstics of men is known to almost all the nations of each other, the difference is the man, his attitude, his training, degree of motivation, state of happiness, satisfaction etc. Karan nobody is perfact, nobody knows every thing, only thing is that nobody should close door of learning at any stage & should stop thinking that he knows every thing. Brother I have tonns of material to discuss the toppic, donot worry, I shall not quote US Army which is really not worth mentioning, there are many examples in the world history where forces with much advance & superior weapons failed in war.

Govt should pay heeds to Ex-Foreign Secy's advice with an immediate effect !

Deal firmly with China: Ex-Foreign Secy - India should shed its "submissive" and "timid" attitude towards China and show firmness in dealing with it on the boundary dispute by strengthening defence and cementing ties with Russia, Former Foreign Secretary A P Venkateswaran said.

Obama appeases dragon, says Tibet a part of China !

Describing Tibet as part of China, US President Barack Obama on Tuesday supported the early resumption of talks between Beijing and representatives of the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama.

"We did note that while we recognise that Tibet is part of the People's Republic of China, the United States supports the early resumption of dialogue" between the Dalai Lama's representatives and Beijing," Obama said after his meeting with Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao in Beijing.

Lets see how they(US) provoke the ignition between India and China.

all repects power

sir,
I read your article you are right in saying that we should be aware of chinese.Because pakistan danger is an open challenge but that of china is more furious & prominent at present.Infact china is trying to keep busy with our neighbours
  1. all knows who provide nuclear arms to pakistan
  2. the country who provides nuclear power technology and power plants to pak
  3. maosist revolution in nepal and maosist help in disturbing india
  4. providing arms and ammunitions to mayanmar
  5. creating ports of pakistan and srilanka
  6. by applying all efforts at international level so that india must not gain
  7. by not recogonising azhar masood as terrorist air india khandhar highjacking. supporting all elements in pakistan on kashmir issue
But even after all i thinks that china wants to increase our expenditure on defence and wants to busy with our :mad:neighbours so that we cannot focus on our growth . we are the only contry which is competing with china on growth and economic frony.
so china is tactially playing mind game .

we should concentrate on our development i.e.economic front and should compete on economic front.
our aim is to become worlds super power & we should decide our issues and policies not keeping china and pakistan but rather on world geographic situations, which keeps all triangles in mind.

My Perception

My dear karan, tactics of all the Defence forces is known to each other & practically is same. But what really makes difference is:-

It is not the weapon but the man behind the weapon wins the battle. our man is much batter but our National management is weak, selfish & our public is divided & not security minded, also we donot have national character donot exists.

Dear Members,
I think we are confusing here between strategy, tactics and battle field maneuvers. The first and foremost thing in developing a national defense plan is the “Threat Perception”. That is clearly the identification of nations those are likely to be hostile to you for various reasons, be it their own political environment, border disputes or ethnic differences. Once the threat perception is identified, the basic organization of the defense forces and the weapons and equipment to make them operationally successful is created/ identified. This leads to budget allocation and procurement of weapon and equipment, and building the defense forces, that includes type of people you want and the training you want to impart at various level of command and staff as well as to ranks and files.
While fighting one of the most important thing that motivates people to make supreme sacrifices is the “Cause to Fight For”. That is where propaganda and motivation comes in. I may be wrong in my assessment, but the Regimentation is something that Britishers developed and used effectively to make us fight against each other, as they could not justify anything else. They narrowed down the cause to the “Paltan Ki Izzat”, and indoctrinated the soldiers that there was probably no life beyond that. That was the cause enough for our soldiers to fight with regional armies for the victory of British Forces.
Having said that, while Man is the most important factor in the war, machine is no less important, and so is training and motivation. The synergy of all these factors results in force multiplication, and hence the effectiveness of the armed forces. Unfortunately these factors do not influence the outcome of battles in equal proportion and hence probably the confusion.
The threat perception leads to the National Strategy (which is different by the way for each country), and from there follows the tactics. From the tactics we evolve the battle field situations and the drills that a soldier follows in certain situations. Why we insist on drills is to make it a habit to react in certain situations. Those actions are termed as battle procedures and battle drills. There is a lot one can write on the subject. Certainly the statement made by US president about the Chinese role in regional conflict between India and Pakistan should be a cause of worry for the Indian Government.

Mr Fateh Singh Kharb
I have hard time understanding your posts. You keep repeating your single sentence multiple ways. Good language translator is a tool it cannot construct a sentence or an idea for you. Please.....you can write your idea in hindi. Trust me I understand subject matter, if I am not explicit doesn't mean I don't know there are some other reasons for that.

Thank you very much for making it clear. I hope some member will understand to read between lines, there is big difference between Arrogance and Confidence. I do concur there are some things said at APAC meeting by POTUS that should wake up some idiots in Bharat ki Govt.

Some Wise man said it wisely, "All gave some, some gave it all"
