Iran given 'nuclear weapon' data

I wish to draw members' attention to the latest revelations by Iranians;

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/4449860.stm

At last they have admitted that Pakistan gave them drawings for vital atomic bomb components. There is coverage in India papers also that Government will vote against Iran again if required. Communists seem to be going into defensive now.

As many of you must have read in papers, Saudi King will be the chief guest on our Republic day next year. This shows that government of India is working silently in national interest. Let us not get carried away by illusion of friendly Iran, as Nuclear Iran can be a real recipe of disaster for India in long run. Irrespective of the merits of Indo-US nuclear collaboration, India will be doing a big mistake in supporting Iran on nuclear issue.

The government has taken a decision and now we all have to stand by it. I personally feel, that no decision is a bad decision when taken, if it does not turn out to give desired results, that could be because of error of judgement while making the decision. We all have our views on the subject. While wait and watch may be the most satisfying thing to keep ourselves comfortable, we need to actively monitor the international situation and keep our counter moves ready to deal with any unpleasant situation or any contingency. Every one is talking about the serious repeucussions? What are those Reprcussions? Let us mention these and then try and discuss the ways and means to counter those if they in fact do occur.

Col. Sahab,

The Government itself is not standing by the decision it had taken. Within a matter of few days, courtesy Volkar Report, has taken another interesting turn. Now they say that they would abstain. Natwar Singh's statement on this issue was even more ludicrous as if the previous stand was some sort of bargain i.e. you save us from Volkar we will support you on Iran. The US couldn't do that and Natwar showed his anger publicly. We should always remember Satan (i.e. America) will allow you only to keep your head above water. If you try to swim it will drown you.

Very correct Rajendra Jee, Indeed..India should never support iran on nuclear issue. An nuclear armed Iran is not in the interest of India. Also, India should not feel hostage to the gas deal with Iran. Also..after all Iran has to sell its gas and oil to survive, and they too need india as a customer. But nuclear deal is much more important than the gas deal. Diplomatic currency should be invested in technology and not only in procuring raw materials.

That is all the more reason Sehrawat Sahab that we should engage more and more with this so called Satan to learn the tricks of the trade. Running away from so called satan won't save us. In fact we should engage with every type of Satan, including China, Iran ...Myanmar.

There are some satans in this world jinki dosti bhi buri aur dushmani bhi buri....Some beech ka rasta.......to abstain i suppose...could have been an ideal thing initially but if India does abstain now......she will gain nothing, rather she will appear idiotic.

now lets see what our joker (left) say on this stand of Indian Govt.

This was expected. After Russia and China fell in line with US and EU, our comminists knew what was in store and they had no option but to have a face saving exit.. India can not afford to be nonaligned till she develops some further muscles. What ever BJP or anyone might say, our PM is turning out to be tough man. With whatever noise our communists mike make, PM is going ahead with all the important policy matters like Mumbai and Delhi airport modernisation and now the IAEA vote.. PM is listening to everyone but does what suits national interest.

It is on expected lines.....no surprises. And in the given situation this was the best option but i will still say it is an opportunistic decision and Iran stands betrayed. Anyways we are too small infront of national policies. Good luck to India!

Pakistani actor Omar was telling in a show about a women who had 12children but still complaining to her friend "bahan pyar nahin mila". It applies to a large extent to our foreign policy. "Koi dagar manjil tak nahin pahunchi". I wonder where is the need to discuss something which is based on nothing but whims and fancy. It takes a new turn as soon as a new Joint Secretary assumes office in a territorial division in our Foreign Ministry. Our foreign policy bread Panchsheel, NAM, South-South, G-4, Gujaral doctrine, where are all those? We embraced baltic states, they were our brothers. Now Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia etc. etc. are nowhere. They are starving and don't exist for us. We created Bangladesh, how it is behaving is for everyone to see. Yassir Arafat was the most frequent visitor a few years back. Israel is a close ally now !!! Julius Nyarere, Sam Nujomas were brothers to Indira, we financed their struggle spending millions of the then scarce foreign currency. Now they don't import even a needle from India and no cajoling makes them to vote for us in UN. China is their favoured destination. Russia was the friend, we ran to even for small help. We dropped them like a hot potato. In 2001 our PM installed a statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Tehran, we are discussing what we did to them. The very Congress whose dear leader was showered with choicest invectives, to whom whatever NDA did was not acceptable, went to and sat in the lap of USA. Alas, USA too seem to be an aging tiger. With trade deficit of more than 700 billion dollars, increasing unemployment etc. etc. is in dire state of economy and who know may cease to be super power. No doubt, China is the only viable competitor for next super powerdom. What we will do then ? Dil kahta hai, Arunachal de ke unki god mein ja baithenge !!! Akhir hamari foreign policy dil ka hi to khel hai aur dil ka kya "dil to pagal hai" !!!
