Let's Discuss UP Election: Opinions, Exits: Haathi, Haath, Kamal Aur Cycle!

Bhaio as per the latest reports ,SP is going to get around 190 seats.
BSP aroud-98 seats.
Congress+RLD alliance-50
BJP -49.
Others-14
In this way SP can merge other indepedents to form the goverment.

A mixed result for jaats...................

Hathi - Ab Mera Kya hoga? Covered forever?

If at all congress wants to retain its identity as a political party in Indian scenario, following are some of the suggestions otherwise they have to forget and wind up:-

1)Bring all black money from the foreign banks and declare the same as national property.

2)Don't shield the looters and corrupts in your party(be it anybody including Rahul or Sonia) and hang them in public with out going for judicial formailties.

3)Don't bank on dynastic rule.

4)Train your party cadres to be patriotic and nationalists than anti-national.

5)Stop blaming everybody by telling they are corrupt, clean your house first.

6) Shed ego and arrogance and listen to the inner pains of the common public.

7)Bring Jan Lokpal, not necessarily drafted by team anna, you may hire salient people oriented points from that .

8)Do not rein on central institutions like CBI,IB,CVC,EC etc .Let them work independently.

and This has been proved worst election for Jats...in the final countdown you will see even more gujjar MLA than jats....RLD lost 2 seats in baghpat out of three (shame!)....biggest strongholds of Jats in UP Baraut and Shamli (not very sure about shamli..i guess there is a neck to neck fight between virender gujjar and pankaj malik but current trend show virender gujjar leading) there have been taken by others...Jats just managed to retake chaprauli...shame!..what happened with Kiranpal in bulandshahar?

The re-structuring of Uttar Pradesh hereby might be delayed, for quite some time !!

People were looking forward to WELCOME - 'Braj (Brij or Brajbhoomi) / Harit Pradesh / Pashchim Pradesh' & 'Awadh' & 'Purvanchal' & 'Bundelkhand' .... !!

Yes bro its a clear set back for western UP formations as SP will never allow UP to be partitioned.Virednra singh Sirohi has lost the Bulansahar seat.Haji Alim from BSP has won this seat.Ch Ghajendra singh from BSP has won Anupsaharr seat...............

Panakaj Malik has won the Shamli seat.
The defeat of RLD kokhab Hamid & Virendra singh Sirohi is unfortunate.........................

RLD has won the majority in UP.

Winners in category BSP, independents, others have party time in Uttarakhand.

Has RLD got punished for it's greed for a berth? Would it have been better off alone, without Congress?

Apart from Punjab, all the election results are on expected lines. I think, Captain was over-confident and paid the price of being arrogant and/or ignorant. One message is clear from results, whoever wants to win as the single largest party in any election need to perform across all religions and castes. People are tired of identity politics. Will our politicians take this lesson? Will they stop vote-bank politics in future? Well, I hope so.

The gain of 6 seats in UP by Congress has surprised me. This gain has been at the cost of RLD.

Looks like corruption has only been an issue where aspirants were overtly tainted. Thanks to Anna that corruption has gained some importance now. otherwise it was all money play.

In UP, BJP got dragged down by induction of Babu Singh and Badshah Singh.

BJP in Uttrakhand, despite corruption issues, saved itself with last minutes efforts of enacting a strong lokpal bill and changing the CM person.

There was not much Anna factor in these elections. But certainly people have rejected goons and thugs who use to win these elections.

Election results: Uttar Pradesh voters give goons a thrashing

LUCKNOW: Criminalization of politics is all set to complete a full circle. At least that is what the poll results suggest with some undisputed ganglords who were known for their undisputed hold over their respective regions got a bashing this elections.

The results have vindicated the stance of the major political parties who refused to entertain these dons compelling them to contest polls as independents.

Be it the underworld dons like Brijesh Singh (39 criminal cases) who contested from Saiyadraja assembly constituency in Chandauli districts from a little known Pragatisheel Manav Samaj or Atiq Ahmed (45 criminal cases) - a the ganglord from Allahabad who contested from Allahabad west on an Apna Dal ticket, Shahnawaz Rana (16 cases) from Rashtriya Lok Dal from Bijnore or even Jitendra Singh Babloo (19 cases) contesting from Bikapur in Faizabad as a Peace Party candidate - not one could save his seat this time. Named in the list of top 10 mafia turned politician, none of them could finish second, what to talk of giving stiff competition to the winning candidate. Except for Brijesh Singh, all these top names from the crime world have been elected MLAs at least two times in the past but couldnt make it now.

The situation was no different for the second rung of dons in Uttar Pradesh. Madan Bhaiyya (4 cases still pending against him) who has been elected four times in the past, lost on Tuesday from Loni in Ghaziabad where he contested on a RLD ticket, Manveer Singh (31 criminal cases) from Jewear in Gautum Budh Nagar , Ajay Prakash (21 cases) from Lumbhna on Peace Party ticket too failed to make it through.

However some of the veteran criminals turned politican who have by now spent more time in politics than the period they were active in the underworld, managed to sail through but with wafer thin margins.

That all of them have been in the saddle for more than three consecutive terms too has helped them retain their seat this time. While don turned politician Akhilesh Singh (8 criminal cases) contesting on a peace party ticket from Rae Bareilly , Raghuraj Pratap Singh (8 cases) contesting as independent from Kunda in Pratapgarh or Guddu Pandit from Dibai along with Ravidas Mehrotra from Lucknow central on SP tickets were the lucky ones who made it through.
