Lt Gen V K Singh superceded by BHARDWAJ as Vice Army Chief

Is Defence Secretary of India a Jat?

Irrespective of this thread, I was wondering whether the Defence Secretary of India is Jat. His name is Shri Pradeep Kumar and he is from Haryana Cadre. Any other information?

Thats why CM post should be given to someone who is Strong active physically fit, who can think well.

i seriously condemn this kind of thinking.we have always been the protecter of the sovereignty,unity and integrity of this nation.our ancestors have given their sweat and blood for it without any concern for the boundaries, races, regions and everything that separates us from others.this mentality was adopted by Sikhs and they ended up with terrorism in their state.please i request everyone reading this article just to read it for LT.GEN.V.K. SINGH.i hope you people would understand what i wanted to say because one have very limited suply of words in sections like these.
and yes best of luck to LT. GEN V K SINGH may god help him get to the top and make us proud.

I believe to become chief the Officer must have good equation with the Govt.

Yes, I thought rather deeply on the comment about outdated weaponry with the Indian Army during Kargil. It is common knowledge that Indian Artillery hasn’t been upgraded for about 20 years now. A Howitzer is a Cannon having a comparatively short barrel, used esp. for firing shells at a high angle of elevation, as for reaching a target behind cover or in a trench. Therefore, howitzers can’t fire in mountains in that role up to 40 Kilometers. In Kargil the ingenuity factor of the Artillery came to the fore and Bofors Guns were used as howitzers.

I too pay Income Tax, therefore, I too contribute to the government’s kitty from which many get paid.

The arms dealers roam around in the BMW’s to go to Ministry of Defence and not Army HQ. People having basic knowledge of procedure of arms and equipment procurement would understand.

Yes, unscrupulous persons in the defence forces get involved in acts which are prejudicial to good order and military discipline and get punished, and that too rather quickly. In Bareilly one Maj Gen, a couple of Brigadiers and about 8-9 Colonels faced court martial, all together. Corruption is a cancer. There can be no two opinions on it.

Lt Gen Raj Kadyan (Retd) should have done his calculations right when he asked one year’s extension while posted in Paris. That one year cost him. Had there been an officer of any other caste, he too would have met the same fate.

In any case, most of these Generals awaken only after retirement or when superceded.

I have never tried to belittle others training and repository of knowledge of life. I agree that I am not capable of achieving even half of what some distinguished members’ have accomplished. But I know one thing fro sure and that is that given equal opportunities I would have surely done better than most.

The day ‘Regimentation’ ends in the Indian Army, God save this country. Regimentation started during ‘Vedic Period’. Please study this concept in detail.

My belief has always been that the only ‘deshbaghat’ in this country is the poor farmer and soldier. No Army in the world serves for free. The nation does no favor to the Armed Forces by feeding and clothing them. Let them not do it and then see what happens.

A JAT will become Army Chief when a JAT reaches that level of competence and seniority.

Lt Col Malik seems to be pro in writing by now. Beautifully written piece.. I fully agree to your comment on Lt Gen Kadyan's fate. He might have stayed there on insistence of Govt of India but can't he consider it a sacrifice for the nation because it wasn't done particularly to debar him from taking the top rank in Indian Army. Anyways i'd love to know more about regimentation concept from Vedic Era
 
Finally this thread can R.I.P. Lt. Gen V K Singh will be our next COAS.
I am not trying to start any controversy or anything, if someone wants to dig deeper why Ved Prakash Malik was made Army chief should go talk to Mahinder Singh Tikait and Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Lt Gen V K Singh rise to COAS ,
were caught in Sukhna Land SCAM.....

Yudhvir, you are right, I have also read in Times of India that Gen VK Singh is cleared for the top chair, He is from Rajput Regt & Rajput by caste, from Haryana. I appreciate concern of many brothers for the community but such type of reaction may not be good. Views of col virender & col malik are very relivent. Key to success { Education & Unity}. regards

Its Date- of- Joining which tells SENIORITY.

If MERIT is the criteria them I'm sure you yourself can find a better candidate then present BHARDWAJ...

Sir, Would you like to reconsider your views and let us know how do you feel, since Lt Gen V K Singh is now cleared to be next chief.

It is the style of politicians to give half knowledge in most inflammatory manner to public to raise the passions against the establishment and garner their support. I am always skeptical about the discussions based on half knowledge. But you did a good job by raising this issue; atleast we did have a discussion. To me an issue can be raised either to raise passion and in an inflammatory manner; or in an inquisitive manner to know more about the subject. I personally prefer the second one; but we are all entitled to our opinion and style of discussion. Let us keep contributing to the best of our abilities.

I hope I did not offend you; and if I did; I am sending my apologies in advance. The intnetion of this particular post is to request a less inflammatory approach to the topics; because some of our people do get agitated pretty easily. So, let us give them a complete knowledge; without raising their passions.

sampat badgujar ka yogdan v.k.singh ko chief bawane me bada jordar raha , pahle pata hota yu jat nahi to shayad is jhamele me na padte ,jatland per ban ho liya. vaise inhe ab huda aur congress se shikayat nahi hogi , this is known as "gunah belajjat"
