My personal view is that Ms Mayawati will make a very strong PM and that is what India needs at this time. She is clear headed and can take strong decisions. Very big group of Brahamins is with her now and that will act like her real brain. Brahmins will join her in larger numbers in years to come. If only a politician has to become PM, she is no worst than anyone else. If Sonia Gandhi can head Congress just being widow of Rajiv Gandhi, what is wrong with Maywati becoming a PM ? Democracy is always "Work in Progress" and I see nothing wrong in accepting her as PM.

Doctor sahab you are right upto some extent but brain behind BSP is bamsef which is purely (100% Jatav) chamar party not brahamins.
Having seen all sorts of politicians, I feel that Mayawati is not a bad choice. To best of my knowledge she does not encourage Bhai-Bhateejawaad. Having her as Indian PM will bring all lower castes in mainstream and make them feel part of Indian dream. She is a no-nonsense lady and knows how to put people like Rahul Gandhi etc behind bars. Somehow I feel very strongly that she will make a great PM and may even turn out to be better than Indira Gandhi when it comes to taking decisions in national interest. At this point of time I can only wish her all the best.

One illiterate politician can never be a good administrator in any way....i wonder what convinced you that she will be a good prime minister....a position where a learned and educated man like Manmohan Singh faces difficulty(who has expertise in economics and is ofcourse not corrupt like others politicians including Mayawati)....u believe this illiterate lady who doesn't even know how to dress up well will manage the administration of the whole country?Well if everyone starts thinking about you then that day is not far when all the political positions will be filled with uneducated people who are not capable of handling international issues....It will be a shame if we have such person as prime minister.

It feels rather strange when we give credence to thugs. I have no personal vendetta against Mayawati. I will simply write a few lines based on published records and facts as we know them.
Mayawati was born to less than middle-class hardworking folks. I would have liked to believe that she would understand the life of neglected and poor people and that she would carry with her some moral values of high degree. Unfortunately, this lady failed miserably. She has amassed an incredible amount of wealth based on the federal taxes she is reportedly paying. It is not a crime to earn wealth, we all want wealth. But to steal it is a crime. From where did she collect the bounty? Did she start any company or was she an entrepreneur? Well, it is a matter of shame on our system and we get what we deserve! Let us make her PM and this country can go to a dog-house much faster.
UP is a mini India and she is CM. Millions of People in UP are suffering in poverty and living in hell. She should utilize her ill-gotten wealth and help the State. Her well wishers should convince her to do that!!!

I agree that Manmohan Singh has been used as a puppet but i can bet Mayawati will also take actions(if at all) for the betterment of dalits only....she can never do justice to her job atleast in this lifetime...She is no less than any of our typical Indian politicians....she is corrupt and biased....She is not even worth the position she is holding rightnow but then its our great India where even criminals are MP so no wonders.

Ms Mayawati is more qualified than majority of the Prime Ministers India had till date. Please check your facts. Dr Man Mohan Singh did not become PM. He was installed as PM and had to get all his actions approved from 10 Janpath. Question is not of my wanting or not wanting her as PM, but of public at large. Compare her with VP Singh, Chandrashekhar, Dev Gauda, IK Gujral etc and you would find that in no way she is inferior to any of them. She is many more time qualified than Mrs Gandhi who was hardly a high school. Not that I want her to become PM, certainly I won't have any issue if she becomes PM.

Looks like dress sense is first and foremost for you to judge a leader. Let me take you slightly back in Indian history to the dreass of Mahatma Gandhi. Churchil called him nacked fakir and made jokes of him. I suppose Ms Mayawati wears more cloths than Mahatma Gandhi. No doubt she has collected wealth and I am all against it. Unfortunately she is not alone. Have a look at Lallu, Dev Gauda, Mulayam Singh, Chautala, Badal etc... and how much each of them has looted this nation. If we choose our PM purely on the basis of honesty and dress sense, many will disqualify. If dress sense is the sole criteria then Hema Mailini, Jaya Parda, Jaya Lilitha types should get the job.

She can take hard decisions and is not a weak person. This puts her in the catagory of Mrs Indira Gandhi.
This single quality makes the the fittest candidate in my view.
