There is differenece between being famous and being well known. I am not sure if all the nemes mentioned by members fall in the catagory of famous. Getting elected as MP or making it to the post of Principal of a college does not make one famous. If I am asked to pick up the names of famous Jats, I would pick up only the following ones;

1. Sir Chotu Ram
2. Ch Charan Singh
3. Maharaja Suraj Mal
4. Ch Devi Lal
5. Dara Singh
6. Col. Hoshyar Singh, PVC
7. Virendra Sehwag

Famous can be considered only those whom common men from all castes know and those who inspired others very significantly..

Rajendra

Rajendraji,
You are right...these are only famous Jats..I fully agree with you.
I think burdak writing famous list of Jats from his colony!!!

Dear Sunil

Try not to be so hard.

Burdak ji is providing a very valuable service and is doing a wonderful job.

Jats are taught they have no history or culture. Our kids are taught that Jats are good for nothing bandits and ruffians. They are also taught they are not capable of higher learning, and the only economic opportunities for them are those opf Sipahis, security guards, and now labourers, Mazdoors, on daily wage.

Other groups have usurped that Jat contribution to learning, academics, and society.

If we do not change this picture, and encourage our kids to fight back, our community is going to fall further and further behind.

One purpose of this section, and the Yahoo Jathistory group is to bring to the attention of our community, that the Jats have a rich culture and history.

The people he is writing about are role models, for the community, especially our younger generation who do not have any knowledge of Jats who have made significant achievements or made significant contributions.

It is important to our younger generation to know that many Jats are very successful.

It is important to know they are political leaders, Principals of Schools and colleges, and IITs and IIMs, Business people, IT specialists , lawyers, doctors, accountants- all fields that Jats were trained to think were fields, they could never achieve success in.
.

Our Jat kids need to learn that if they persevere they too can emulate the Role models that exist, and that they can be successful- by getting good academic results, and keeping in mind they should contribute, and help the less well off in the Jat community

Famous Jats may be wrong term

Let us not quibble a bout small details

Role models for Jats may be a better term.

Perhaps the Administration can change the Title of the thread.

The thread is valuable, and let us all thank Burdak Sahib, and the other contributors for posting examples of these role models, and their life histories, so that can act as an inspiration for our community.

Let us see many more such posts

Best Regards

Ravi Chaudhary

Ravi,
I am not agreeing with you either. I do not think there is any logic of Jat history!
First we should have good knowledge of ‘Indian History’.

And I do not want any corrupted political leader as a ‘Role model’.

DO u considers them Role models?
Do u want to teach kids about these currupted leaders?
