My dear brother Fuel or Gas can be up and down everyday like vegetables. Crude oil price was above $100/barrel. Now it’s $48-49. Agree that price can’t be half because transportation, refinery and other charges has been raised. Govt. Saving good money and its good as it can be used in others projects and developments work. I just wanted to say that there are many countries where petrol, diesel and Gas price go up and down every day.


Land Acquisition: -

Are you a farmer? Only farmers can answer it. Example: - Some jat families left villages years before and settle down in city. Do you think their children will give value to land? They just love to make money from it. So this matter belongs to farmer and their primary income source is farming. Hardly matter for me or you.

You are always biased while writing comments on any topic. You try to show here that you are the "Massiaha" of jats and farmers. You have to think of existence of other communities too. I discussed what the bill contains and I did not talk how it can be misused. Mr. Modi is under pressure to deliver quick results as you see the comments of public who have less patience like you and that is why he brought in Ordinance. Ordinances have been brought in the past and hence it is not a new thing. Learn to address people appropriately. Refrain from using Mr. America or any thing else like this because it down plays your personality.

Diesel is already highly subsidised in India. Diesel prices are still high in the west too. I do not see anything in the Ordinance which hurts the rights of farmers. Land can be acquired in public interest anytime. You will be surprised to know that even your house can be acquired in public interest in North America. I think people do not leave any opportunity to criticise the government for nothing.

There is no disagreement over the point about the national interest. Best national interest is defence issue in a wide opinion and anyone would donate that land happily without any compensation. When it comes to the point of issue other than defence than if its taken without the consent of the land owner then its highly un-democratic and authoritarian. Present ordinance have become disputable because the central govt has removed the consent clause for acquiring land for five areas of industrial corridors, PPP projects, rural infrastructure, affordable housing and defence.

Now please explain how it would not hurt a person whose sustenance will be gone forever. ?

Its a sign of awakened society to criticise and scrutiny every decision of the govt after all its the govt of people, by the people and for the people and present ordinance is absolutely not for the people but for the business sharks.

Since you brought the subsidy point, let people at JL know about the amount of subsidies American farmers get about their crop and sidewise compare the horseshit MSPs give by the present govt?

I dont understand this, he first replied to my post and then I replied back asking him is there anything in the bill/ordinance which is against farmers and how land acquisition should be different to developed country.

He got irritated at me asking him question and deleted his and mine posts. I think he needs some holidays.

While comparing a developed nation like USA with a developing nation like India, one must adopt cautious approach.

Diesel subsidy is not a special concession to farmers only but the need of maintenance of Indian economy as a whole in good shape.

As regards, subsidy in diesel, it is an attempt of the government not only to help agriculture sector to reduce production cost of the food grains and other eatables which are used by millions and millions producers and non-producers in the country, but, also to facilitate easy transport of goods for trade and commerce which is equally necessary to keep the transportation costs easy.

The subsidy regime is everywhere applied to give succour to the disadvantage groups including in the developed countries in various sectors.

Isn't it so !

I said if you don't want to discuss the topic of the thread you can refrain from posting here and enjoy as a reader. Put here the two other deleted post of your and mine and let the forum members decide.

Well it is not personal. It is about right and wrong. It is about the right treatment of a member's post. It has happened in the past and now i have posted after long time and same thing happened again.

Why should a member waste his time in writing a post if it get deleted for no valid reason.

Kindly note that it is your right to decide whether you want to post or not and after how long gap; but please note that it is my duty to see the relevance of the post to the thread topic. In this way rights and duties are the two faces of the same coin !

Nonetheless, I have earlier voted for you [see the meaning of the vote i.e. against me so that the discussion on the thread is not disturbed!!!] where you demanded voting on the issue. What more do you want from me ! I guess we cannot equate agriculture land with a house as someone was saying earlier in an example. Land is a source of income whereas house is not. How to determine the value of land which is sole source of income for someone?

Had you heard or watched the discussion in OP, you would have not asked the point first handedly. Point is that your land can be acquired by the govt without your consent.
