Baba Ramdev to float political party

Everyone make promises and assures that he/she will do the just thing, once he is in power. How many have done so? So my point is not to judge people by that they say, but by their deeds. I will not try to get into a discussion that deviates us from the topic but I would like to make few points clear. If he and all of us avail the benefits from the technology of west then we should refrain from making stupid statements about discarding the western products (we always have the option to buy suraj motorcycle instead of Honda). His tone should have been appreciative towards them and then he could have promoted indigenousness. Somehow, the statements he makes sound politically motivated and exhibits the ignorance of the fools.

Next I am not arguing regarding his rights to fight an election. I have just put forward some points so that people get to know the person before raising him to the level of godliness. Somehow we demonstrate a lot of vulnerability in our decisions. We get very easily impressed by people without giving ourselves a chance to analyze them.

I dont see a logic that if rabri or mayawati can be CM then why cant he be. Shall we keep making the same mistakes again and again.

He is serving the nation in the best way he can but if he gets into a different game then the results can be devastating. He is not bad because he has expressed his political desires, he was bad anyways, now he shows his greedy nature and stupidity. There is a difference in being a yog guru and a political leader. And I am scared that the people will be fooled again just like always, by judging the idols superficially.

Because Sachin Tendulkar is the best batsman in the world doesnt mean that he can be a great leader. We all saw how miserably he failed as a captain.

Agree with Nitin here. It;s not that we do not have honest people in politics. I would say that Vajpayee is very honest, even opposition has lots of respect for him but when it came to delivering results, he couldn't make a difference. Corruption was an important plank on which Vajpayee govt came in power but failed to make any dent in reducing corruption. I would consider even Advani a non corrupt politician. Even communist parties have lots of leaders who lives a very normal life and you would seldom hear anything about them being involved in corruption scandals. They have been part of several govts (inside and outside support) but again they failed in achieving results. So, thinking that handful of babaji's MP can force the govt to recover black money or root out corruption is making fool of ourselves.

Nitin has raised very valid points which make us to think that there is a difference in Babaji's "karthni" and "karni". He earlier used to say that he will never go outside the country but now he is flying all over the world when we have so many poor people in our country that need upliftment and medical care. Sadhu's and saints are there to show the right path to the people not to rule them. Once they become involved in worldly comfort and luxuries they can no longer claim themselves as a sadhu. Still I hope that he be given a chance by people just like they have been giving to Congress again and again, and to other parties too.

Look at it from a broader mind set. West has some good things and some bad. West is both reeling under pain and enjoying with it's most lustrous creations - Capitalism (the capitalism infests with greed). West is under pain because it's economy is in danger of collapse and enjoying because they could infest the Indian (developing world) mind with greed. They have attracted best of these greedy minds to work for them - so that they could then sell their creations and enjoy with the money. - All this Honda and Suraj talk is absurd.

This man has devoted him self to server the humanity, the world in it's most natural way. He is not serving the world by making Atom bombs (which were, ironically, justified). With his creation, he is curing the ills for the entire world - not just for Indians. Today more Westerners are getting benefited by Yoga then Indians.

People have freedom of their views, they can even criticize Mahatma Gandhi Ji that he served the nation because he wanted power.

I truly feel, that this man is a visionary and political party is the next logical step. We desperately need good people in politics. It is our short sightedness which do not let them in.

What is the connection between Western nations being Capitalist and Baba Ramdev starting a political party? Weird !

Anyways...liked the interviewer in the first post. Seemed like a balanced guy who isn't
trying to force his opinions or viewpoints unlike so many others I see in the Indian media.
 
My first point of contention in my first reply on this thread was that Baba ramdev ain't a saint. He is a very shrewed businessman and has time and again shown signs of greed and power.

I am not taking the credit away from him for the fact that he reintroduced yoga on a massive scale to the people of India. With whatever reasons, but people in huge numbers started to get more concerned about their health. (Though I wonder how many of us do yoga and I even wonder whether yogic exercises are better than any other kind of routine excercises)

My second point of contention was that most people are very naive and demonstrate the vulnerability of charater, when it comes to take a pragmatic decision than an emotional one. In simple words, we easily get pusuaded by buttery and sweet talks and fail to critically look at the future leaders. Ramdev has not spent a sec of his life for humanity. Please try inviting him to teach yoga to poor people without any monetary deal and any media coverage. His expensive medicines (which eludes the common poor people) are not good for curing anything more than cold and fever. *please refer to my first reply for a little more details.

On the contrary, even though our Ex Pres Kalam was a part of atomic bomb development (I am personally against WMDs) but he was far greater than Ramdev in terms of virtues, simplicity, intelligence and service. (When he came he US to our university, he came only with one gaurd and shared the lunch boxes with indian students in group with no more than 5 students).

Ramdev can be a very good yogic guru, and a businessman of course, but we nead leaders who are more in tune with the political scenario of the world. Who actually are more educated. Mulayam talks about scrapping computers and english, a party in harayana talked about banning western songs etc...

We need time to have a closer look at his abilities and deeds. We are talking about giving the control of our nation in these critical times.

I've different views here, instead of criticizing Baba Ram Dev I would rather sit patiently and wait n' watch for the changes he is promising to bring. I believe everyone has right to stand up in election then why not Baba Ram Dev? I think he is much better than those spineless, corrupt n' cheap politicians. The way he brought life in almost dead Yoga in last few years is revolutionary and indeed commendable. How pity it was that Yoga, in its origin country losing even its existence! And then Baba Ramdev came and changed the whole picture. I don't find Baba Ram Dev master of Yoga but the much he contributed to Yoga and Ayurveda is worth great praise. Now what if he gets reward for this, why everyone is jealous of him here?

I'm not a politician nor I have much interest but I've high hopes that Baba Ram Dev will revamp Indian politics scenario as well like he did for Yoga and mind you he has a great fan following.

Therefore I support Ram Dev Here!

I am not sure which rewards are you talking about. An oppotunity to lead the nation or the money which he has made. I dont mind him making tons of white money but to lead a nation is not equivalent to a trophy which can be give to any person. In true terms it is the most difficult job, unfortunately the meaning in the present age had changed for many.. We have bharat ratna, padma shri and other awards for the various contributions from people of India.

No one is jealous here, (except babas and gurus from his competing ashrams)... It is about thinking in the best interest of India.

I personally feel that you are the one. I will ask for leave for two or three months for your elections OR for any member if he is ready to give politics a try.

भाई, बात तो पूरी समझ रिया से l कांग्रेस तो अन्धो में काणा राजा है, मेरे तथ्य ये नहीं था की अगर गोविंदा नेता बन सकता है तो रामदेव क्यूँ नहीं, मै तो यह कहेना चाहता हूँ की गोविंदा गलत था और हमे ऐसे लोगो की लोकप्रियेता से प्रभावित हो कर नहीं परन्तु काब्लियत या क्षमता को देख कर वोट देनी चाहिए l अब बावली बूच लोग एक दारु की बोतल में बिक जा तो फिर नेता की के गलती से l अगर रामदेव सब में सब से सही विकल्प हो तो फीर वो ही सही l मै तो केवल एक कमज़ोर मानसिकता के खिलाफ हूँ जो उपारी बातों से प्रभावित हो जाती है l हम बड़ी जल्दी किस्सी को भगवान् का दर्जा दे देते हैं l

भाई नितिन पीतल और सोने में काफी फर्क होता है ! मैं तुम्हारी बाबा राम देव को गोविंदा से तुलना करने वाली बात से कतई सहमत नहीं हूँ ! राम देव की आलोचना करने से पहले उसके कुछ दुर्गुणों पे भी प्रकाश डालो तो बेहतर रहेगा !

भाई न्यू तै गोविंदा के दुर्गुण बताओ?
इस बाबे नै योगा करवाया सै तै म्हारे गोविंदा नै भी तेरी लूगड़ी जिसे रंग की पेंट (रेड+पिंक+एल्लो एंड वटनोट) का ऐसा फैशन बनाया के गाम-गाम में धूम माच गी. बिरच गे थे सारे कै नौजवान. गोविंदा दांतरी भी एंडी पाड्या करता. इतना हसाया करता के पांच पांच साल उम्र बडगी थी सबकी. गोविंदा आला रे आला जरा मटकी संभाल ब्रिजबाला.

भाई मैने कुछ बातों पर प्रकाश डालने की लोशिश करी है अपने पेले जवाब में ( baba ramdev ain't a saint) .
इस के लिए मैंने कोई होमेवोर्क नहीं किया, इतना तो मुझे ज्ञान है. मै तो बस इतना कहे रहा हूँ की लोगों को सारी बातां का बेरा होणा चाहिए, फिर सोच समझ के जो फैसला करे . यो रामदेव दूध का धुला कोयना, और न ही ऐसा है की यो आ भी गया तो इंडिया ने अमेरिका या राम राज्य बना देगा. मैंने आज और न्यूज़ पढ़ी है, अभी अगले जवाब में विश्लेषण दूंगा.

बाबा रामदेव खुद तो कधे चुनाव लड़न की कहंदा ही कोन्या. यो लड़े तो इसने तो लोग जिता ही देंगे. यो तो कुछ न्यारा ही सौदा बनना चाहवे सै. यो चाहवे सै कि इसकी पार्टी चुनाव लड़े और इसकी पार्टी के सदस्य चुनाव जीतकर सरकार बना ले और फेर यो उन्हें बैठा-बैठा निर्देशन दे कि क्या करना है और क्या नहीं. यो तो अच्छा पैसा कमा रहा सै और बढ़िया आदमी भी सै, लेकिन जिन्हें यो अपनी पार्टी का सदस्य बनाएगा, वे तो कती भूखे भेड़िए और लुच्चे लोग पावेंगे (अधिकतर). यो कई साल गुफा में रहा, इसने योग और आयुर्वेद को लोकप्रिय बनाने में मेहनत की, उसका इसे अच्छा फल मिला, नाम मिला, पैसा मिला, लेकिन राजनीति में इसने अभी क्या मेहनत की है, जो इसे सरकार बना लेनी चाहिए? अगर ये बिना मेहनत, संघर्ष करे देश पे राज करने की सोच रहा है तो गलत सोच रहा है और ये जनता इसे ऐसा करने भी नहीं देगी. जो भी पार्टियां सत्ता में आई हैं, उन्होंने पहले कुछ करके दिखाया है. कांग्रेस ने स्वतंत्रता आन्दोलन में मेहनत की, फिर 1971 के युद्ध में भारत को शानदार जीत भी दिलवाई. भा.ज.पा. ने बाबरी मस्जिद ढाकर दिखाई, जनता दल ने बोफोर्स का मुद्दा उठाया और दलितों को आरक्षण दिलवाया. बाबा रामदेव ने क्या किया? जितना कुछ बाबा रामदेव ने किया है, उससे ये खुद सांसद बनने का तो हकदार है, लेकिन केंद्र में सरकार बनाने का नहीं. बाकी लोगों के अपने-अपने विचार सै.

If yes , ibki bai tai election bhi dekhne sain :d woh foofa lade to pakka ga, tai main tai ek mahine ki chutti ki taiyari kare baitha soon ... :) naare laa laa le gala jaroor bithaana sai ibki baar ;)
