India has replied strong and has asked China to go back with out any conditions.... Let us see what future holds
Kabja ki hui jagah baaton se waapis nahi hoti..
As per our foriegn minister Salman Khurshid, occupation of 750 sq kms is just an "acne". So going by his strategies, a "Scar" will happen when whole Kashmir will be occupied by China/Pak. Until he won't react. What a Shame!

Ur absolutely right sir.But one thing i want to say, that the best way to know ones countries intentions is to watch their local news channels on internet, and since i have done that, u all will be surprised to know that chinese consider india much more militarily capable then them, also they consider india as a greatest more reliable business partener than anyother nation, and there is no chance of war or such foolish step from any of the nation for all of them know that its the fools call to go for war in this modern world where wars have now more or less turned into business and economic achievement.....Our indian media is completely irresponsible in dealing with such issues, for they present such issues in spicy way to increase their TRP ratings and creating unnecessary nuisance for government and their officials, and making hue of nothing....Thanks for posting this information here and if its possible give this information to those irresponsible media persons who just no nothing of it.....Its a tricky situation, actually. The border is not notified and that is why its called Line of Actual Control. Though I believe many ex-servicemen JL members can share more info, I understand the Indo-Sino border in Ladakh and in Sikim/AP to be very poorly marked due to a) the reason mentioned above and b) the inhospitable terrain. I have visited army friends and cousins in both Ladakh and Sikkim (a month back) and have seen at first hand the difficulty in guarding or marking the boundaries. In fact one of the highlights of my visit to Sikkim was the memorable time spent with the jawans of the Jat Regiment posted close to the border in North Sikkim. More on that sometime later.
But the point here is that since the border is poorly marked and not an official international border and is in difficult terrain, it is very hard to verify which area belongs to whom. Quite often advance patrols get lost due to heavy snow and end up in each other's territory. There are no fences and certainly no posts sometimes for kms. So my initial assumption is that this is a Chinese advance patrol which encamped in India's territory by mistake. At the same time 18kms inside Indian territory hardly seems like a mistake and it could be another Chinese tactic to test India's response, military preparedness or simply keep us on our toes. Whatever it is, most experts agree that China isnt looking for a conflict. This is also borne out by the fact that at least in Ladakh and Sikkim, Chinese garrisons are almost 30-40 kms away from the LAC, whereas ours like the Jat Regiment one I saw in North Sikkim are much closer - 10-15 kms away. So if I am looking for a fight, I will have my troops closer to the border.
In any case, lets hope the matter gets resolved sooner rather than later. As opposed to what the jingoistic media often projects, the Indian and Chinese border forces aren't on bad terms. There are regular flag meetings and relations have mostly been amicable apart from one or two incidents 20-30 years ago. In fact Nathu La in East Sikkim was recently opened up for trade and from what I hear the Chinese copy NorthFace winter jackets and quilts sell well. As do our Ghee, Refined oil and other items.
China-India stand-off at Ladakh ends, armies withdraw: Press Trust of India
Ladakh: India and China have simultaneously withdrawn their troops from the face-off point at Daulat Beg Oldie near the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh, PTI has reported, quoting official sources. Reportedly, the agreement was reached after high-level negotiations from both sides and the withdrawal was completed at 7:30 pm.
This ends the deadlock that began when Chinese troops set up camp 19 kms into Indian territory in the Depsang Valley in Ladakh. Soon after, India has set up its own post just 500 m away.
Comments from those who believed diplomacy is not the solution?
As someone said: No Big Talks. No Bullshit like 'Operation Parakram'. Just Quiet, Strong Diplomacy that makes the difference.
So still, you dont appreciate them doing their duty?1. It is a responsibility of diplomats and government to resolve this issue.
2. It is our diplomacy who made this mess. Infact our diplomacy is a mess.
3. Even we managed to do some negotiations but these negotitations have come with a price. Indian army has moved back from its own territory.
So still, you dont appreciate them doing their duty?
Really? you are saying that commenting on a topic that has been solved democratically against a more powerful nation?
Your understanding of the issue is compromised vicky, there is no demarkated border in the region and that is why this whole issue took place in the first place
Maybe you do but IMO this whole diplomacy and foreign ministry is a complete doodoo when it comes to protecting its own borders & citizens overseas. So still, you dont appreciate them doing their duty?
Why you keep reiterating this when its written all over that Chinese were well in 19 kms. Did you check post # 22 & 27 on this thread?desijat said:Your understanding of the issue is compromised vicky, there is no demarkated border in the region and that is why this whole issue took place in the first place
