whatever one might say, Lalu certainly has guts and can speak his mind on any topic, however, contraversial it might be. This is what he has to say on the love affairs of a University professor and a student;

Speaking in favour of the 54-year-old professor, Lalu Prasad said: "Love is the essence of god and it helps us understand each other. It is a bond that unites all."

"Love is not a crime, and the professor did not commit a crime by falling in love with a girl half his age," the minister said on Sunday at Hajipur near Patna where he had gone to attend an official function

Dahiya Sahab,

This is not the first such case in human history. There have been numerous such cases everywhere and all through ages. Lust alone won't force a man to this extent that he will take all these troubles of getting his face blackened and facing the society to this extent. Also I am not sure about the girl and her age group. Intellectual class is well known for such relationships and there is nothing new or so strange I personally find in this case. One might of course keep on debating the moral aspects of such relationships. Student teacher marriages are no so uncommon even in medical colleges in India. I know quite a few numbers of cases where professors married the students and both males and females from either side have been involved in such cases. More than anything, I would call it just human nature. I won't pass any judgment of right or wrong in such cases.

Rk Uncle

Kuch kaho Aap Lalu ke karde fan ho. Lalu ne keh diya toh kya yeh theek ho gaya i m not against love but beleive me this is not love. Baaki aajkal time ke hisaab se sab chalta hai.

.........but beleive me this is not love.
Abhimanyu Phougat

Has anyone ever been able to define what is love? I will like to see some universally accepted definition of love.. Haven't we heard of older married men falling in love ( or whatever one decides to call it) ? Haven't people married younger woman or older woman in past ? As far as number of such incidents are concerned, they were very small in past and remain so even now..

Definition for Love

Hi,

There is no such defination for LOVE.:p
But i must say that this type of act is stupidity.
Love do exist between teacher and students.
I really respect the feeling of love.:)
There is a lot difference between extra marital affair and love.
This type of person is called irresponsible and a damn fool.:(
I have heard that professor sahab is having a son also, studying abroad. According to professor's interview he said that his son is with him.His son agree with his decision.
But this is his personal issue, we don't have to care unless they are ready to make it pubic. That's what they had done.
Ek kahawat yahan sahi bethti hai Love is not only Blind but also deaf and dumb.
If this desire within him to fight with world exist for his wife or for a person he wants to marry (only when being unmarried), then i am sure nobody who respect love would be against him.:o

Divya

As seen both of them during TV interview that they wants media publicity and acting like very cheerful person.

This professor must be understand the relation of student and Age difference.

Mr. Lalu eyes on issue to create unnecessary argue and motivation to wrong relationship. I am doubtful whether this some bad image politicians allow such type of relation by any of their female family member

Hmmm... Very typical responses from the Jatland caretakers
of morality.

The prof. has every right to love and lust [Bhai thaara ji na karta ho
tae tham sar ke bal khade ho ka mantra jaap kar lo! Lekin uss bechare ke
pacche kyun pad rahe so. Main tae kahoon soon jis aadmi mein lust na
ho woh tae khaam khaan dharti pe janghan gheran laag ra sae. Mahari
kade ya haalat ho ja toh please koi goli maar diyo.]

Everyone is a free human being and has a right to make such
choices. The female involved is no kid, and is quite openly with
him. So all that crap about teacher-student relationship is a bunch
of Bihari poop.

It is sad to see people so quickly pass judgement on personal lives.
Who knows anything here ? For all we know the wife might be some
goddamn slut who the poor guy has painfully tolerated for all these
years. Maybe she is a man's worst nightmare come alive. Maybe instead,
of hanging the guy we should be worshiping him for all he has endured.
Maybe she is suffering from cancer, and he isn't getting any (aka
Hindi filmi style)...The possibilities are endless.

The guy's face was blackened and in all probability he was beaten up too.
What sort of screwed up civil society
do we come from? Is this how we deal with issues in that "fateecharsthan"
called Hindustan ? Anyone can go ahead and do anything they feel like? Kaanoon
ka kya hua ? I think the woman and her relatives should be thrown into
jail for such atrocities. Is there absolutely no respect for human diginity
in that stink hole ?

[As an aside to Sumit Dahiya. Dude, You dream of a place without
governments. Toh India mein Bhai kya kami hai. Wahan har kooch chalta hai.
Har koi aadmi, jiske baska hai, apni private sarkar bana raha hai.]

I don't want to make this prof. sound like a hero or anything. But
I do think we should respect him as a free human being who gets to make
such choices in life. Smart choice or stupid choice...it is his for the making.

I think at a social level there are a number of things that can be
done to deal with such issues and personal circumstances.

First of all getting a divorce there is difficult. Make it easy. People
should have the right to get out of unhappy situations. Personally I think
that yeh Shaadi ka funda hi bakwaas hai...but this isn't about my philosophies.

The guy may have some financial responsibilities to his dependents (his son,
maybe his wife as well). He should be expected/made to fulfill those. But
he should certainly be allowed to move on with his life in the direction he
wants it to go.

Wasn't Radha a married woman and we Hindu's worship Radha Krishna as lovers? As far as my knowledge goes, she was even much older to Krishna..

Not against Love or age difference.

But what about Professional Ethics and Self Control.

Aur RK uncle Radha aur Krishna kay prem ko please is prem say tulna mat karo.

Aur RK uncle Radha aur Krishna kay prem ko please is prem say tulna mat karo.

1. Please tell us then about Radha Krishna love and how it was so unique that it can not be compared to the present case? Was it just because Krishna was one party or something more than that ?

2. What professional ethics have to do with love or such relations ? Haven't even great Rishis like Vishmamitra fallen to woman beauty?

Why do we look at a common man's love differently than those of great people?

OK They love each other fine but professor's judgement is certainly questionable.

What about the Professor and Student relationship , which has been bound by certain ethics or moral conduct of that profession. In India still Guru/Shishya parampara is revered and considered to be scared.

Professor should have used his judgement, He is mature and man of experience in this case.

And If they were both hopelessly in love. Fair enough then than do it in the right way i.e do what is necessary which will not cause embarrsment to either of them and their families.

And we have good for nothing for politicians teaching the public what love is, no wonder India is going down the dumps.

Wah ke sahi baat kari se sir,
meri bhi bhin ki bhinn... itni neechpanti ki baat kari us idiot ne ( i dont even feel like calling him a proff its like an abuse to sucha profession)...if he had the courage to fall in love, he should've had the courage to tell his wife about it. Nothing can be more pathetic than an extra marital affair. It can never be a relation..it'll always be called an affair... ghatiya insaan rehta toh apni wife ke saath tha aur gulchaare uda rya tha 20 saal ki chorri ke saath college mein... besharam aadmi

So what you think financial matters are everything and social commitments are optional. and you want to change the definiton of professioalism. A professor is expected to teach the morality in life to the students but should not led by example this type of practice.

Liberty doesn't mean that one should offence our thousands years old culture where teacher is considered even more respectful than GOD.
Don't take it as just a discussion but think about the reality if the girl belongs to ur relative or like that. Do you have the courage to accept that in that situation and i know its net and u can type anything, who cares, but not practically, man.

If u still think in that way, i don't want to argue.

God bless you.

RK^2

RK Sir,

First of all who knows that Radha really existed ? Its just a poetic love described by some poet. And if Radha existed and than as the poet told us thet Radha was elder than Krishna but there was no teacher-student relationship and was not such an age difference as we are discusing here on the present topic.

That means two issues :
Age difference : professor is almost twice as the age of student. (According to poets the age difference b/w Radha and Krishna was 2-4 years only)
the profesion : Krishna were not a teacher of Radha.

So, the example is totaly irrelevent.
