Shailendar to mee it seems that as if you was just waiting for the match to finish and put a post in this thread :D coz when I looked at time of your post it was 4.47AM and match finshed at 4 AM here.
Well, the match was indeed a thriller in itself and I can still remember the ROCKET which Frings fired into Costa Rican nets.That was absolute phenomenal.CRC showed some signs of comeback when they scored an equaliser in the early first half.But I couldnt see the ECU-POL match it ended up in 2-0 the all I know about it.
I hope that was just a trailer and we have lot more left to see.
 
Vulnerable germans

All is well that ends well. Or so must be thinking Klinsmann. But for an average fan like me, the flattering 4-2 scoreline looks a bit deceptive. There were obvious flaws in the German defence. They thought they have laid an off side trap only to find the Costa Rican striker on. This is sheer tactical mistake. Then Jens Lehmann seemed anything but convincing. I think time is ripe to bring back old hand Kahn in.

No doubt the aggression -- despite Ballack on bench -- was a great sight and they were rewarded too but the Germans have to plug these loop hole if they want to move beyond second stage.

Well after watching two days of game and seeing giants struggling against minnows, I feel the German did not do all that bad a job!

Look at England, they were cagey and despite their 2-0 victory over Cote de Ivory, the Argentinians looked no match to the Africans.

However, most commendable performance from 'minnow' has been that of T&T. Down ten-man for last 48 min they managed to hold mighty scandanavians and split points in the end. Great! And their goalie Hislop - just too good. Sweden now find themselves in troubled waters and even a place in Knock out stage seems in jeopardy!

Trivia: Meanwhile battered by Viru's blistering 180 in the second Test, the WI team took some solace in T&T's brave performance in the FIFA WC.
 
I think everyone was busy in watching the games on TV that why thread was moving a bit slow.
NED Vs. SCG - Indeed a good match. Perfect display of football by Dutch winger Arjen Robben. Scored a beautiful goal in the first half and attempted a few more later. Nistelrooy seemed to be out of touch in that match. Serbian substitute Koroman also produced some good moves on the field but unfortunately couldnt score. Dutch goalie Van der Sar was too good for those attempts.
MEX Vs. IRN - Personally I wanted Iran to win the game probably because they are our asian neighbours. Mexican goalie displayed beautiful goalkeeping. His father died 3 days before the match and returned a day before the match after attending the funeral.
Today AUS Vs. JPN - I want Aussies to be thrashed by atleast 5-0. I dont know how they managed to beat Greece and played a draw against Holland in friendly. But this time I want them to lose.:cool: :cool: :cool: :cool:

okk fine .. fifa 06.. well no doubt czech n brazilians r damn strong.. n the game of england n german which was way below the expectations has increased the probablility that it gona be either brazil again or czech,, portugal n holland is strong too esp they played gr8 in the opening matches,,,

but i m backing france.. coz zidane wid henry can shatter any defence.. the two r just awesome.. i m just hoping that henry gets in his arsenal wali form!!

brazil shud lose.. coz i hate favourites ; !!

What a game. Australia have shown that they can play football. And I mean football, not Rubgy. What a victory. Trailing for most of the game they scored 3 goals in the last 8 minutes. Go Aussie.

...and to think the Czec Republic are first time debutants in this FIFA World Cup makes these even sweeter!!! (Ok guys, gotta go....Can't wait to rub it in with these American colleauges here in the office now!)

....Aaare yaar, spanish channel ki baat hi to kar rahe thae ude... to phaer ghar baithe Spanish channel Univision (national TV) pae dekh daal! (Unless of course, you meant that wanna catch the english commentary instead!!!....)

Anyways, just finished watching Italy 2 - Ghana 0 (The scoreline tells you nothing about the times the Ghana goal was peppered with scorchers! Full points to the Ghana goalie for keeping it real! ;) )

All you fans and 'converts', watch out tommorrow and don't miss a cool game; Brazil vs Croatia! The defending champions Brazil have a fairly difficult opener, must say! Should be a good game!

I could see only first 2 games as it was already 4AM here.
JPN - AUS - The worst ever game by Japanese. Absolutely no tehnics, no skills, no speed. Totally disappointing performance by them. The ball was fumbling from their feet like Indian fielders drop catches.Awwww Man, that was totally disappointing game at least for me. It made me think that how did they become asian champs. I think by beating teams like Bhutan Burma Vietnam etc etc. Mohun Bagan could have given them a hard time on the field:mad: :mad:
What the hell is problem with Australia....They call soccer team as Socceroos , Hockey team as Hockeyroos.I am so sick of these terms. Can anyone ask them "Is it necessary to convert each and everything into KANGAROOS???????"
I hope Croats or Brasilians would be able to do what I need.
CZE - USA - The commentator here on the local channel said that Czechs played football from different planet.He was so true. Czechs played an awesome game of football.Especially Nedved and Rosicky. I loved the way Rosicky scored both the goals. They will definitely sail through semis atleast.Milan Baros was missing.So there would be more action when he comes back:).
Shailendar bhaai I couldnt get you. Czechs werent debutants in FIFA WC.They are ranked no.2 now and they had beaten USA before 5-1(when it was Czechoslovakia)

Good game by Aussies

Down by 0-1, till the 84th minute and ended up by 3-1. greaaaat show
one should appericiate the fighting spirit of australians till the last minute.
Goal By Chaill will turn out to be one of the best goal of tournament
we have seen it in the past also by the australian Hockey and Cricket team.

So lets wait n watch for some good stuff in comin days.

How come no one's talking about Italy... it has not lost since falling to Slovenia in October 2004, compiling 11 wins and eight draws since then.

Italy is the team to watch guys...

hehehehe... lucky samba buggers..!! wat a game man?? i am totally impressed by croats.. thru out the game they played superior save a few stunts by ronaldinho n kaka.. none of the other stars of brazil were in form.. carlos (blunder while changing flanks at defence... bach gaye the thx to dida) .. ronaldo ( o god wat a sad game for him!) ... adriano (the miss he had .. 1 on 1 wid keeper!!) ... cafu (no gud crosses only running n then getting trapped!)

basically brazil has been surprised in the opener.. i guess they will play tougher now.. i hate them as such !! :D
