Cooljat bhai i also read TOI, and He are macking phool of us,

what you is saying is your point view and I has different point view.

He(TOI) should not be allowed to make such comments. and lot of examples are on JL itself of meritorious Jats. For eg. Anil Sangwan, They was Gold Medalist in Btech and MS, and even now They is contributing a lot on JL.

Hi All,

I think the title of thread is not appropriate at first place, cuz its not branding rather its about popular stereotypes of India. Even I've read the world know that Jats are Alpha humans and infact we're !

Cheers!

Hi All,

I think the title of thread is not appropriate at first place, cuz its not branding rather its about popular stereotypes of India. Even I've read the article and if you go thro' that you'll realize that TOI guys were not targeting Jats or passing any derogatory remarks rather the article was about popular stereotype image of different communities not only Jats. Mind you they also discussed about South Indians, Biharis, Bangalis, Punjabis n Delhites etc.

As for Jat stereotypes, I'm kinda concur with the author's words ... 'Jats-All Brawn,no brains, foul mouthed and aggressive' whats wrong in that? Jats r strong well built, they've gud brains but keep aside when they become furious, 16X2=8 all say that, Man-Brain=Jat, Foul mouthed ya they are and as for chivalry, they are polite but not formal n often due to their rough accent it looks they are not, and aggressive huh u provoke them n face the consequences .. even if u ask anybody around about Jats am sure the answer ll be the same.

As for movies are concern, nowdays Jats are portrayed more of nonsense behaving humorous characters but earlier it was different story altogether, if u happen to watch few of Dharmendra classics like Ghulami, Bantwara etc then u'll feel real gud as these movies portrayed the real struggle of Rajasthani Jats at that time with Rajputs n Baniyas, specially Ghulami is a must see every Jat should see it . :)

So all in all I didnt find anything derogatory in the article, instead of bashing TOI guys we should work something constructive to break the stereotype image of Jats which depicts only the negative image, I don't need to tell here about the positive traits of Jats, do something to let the world know that Jats are Alpha humans and infact we're !

Cheers!

Let's start with Red Quote Jit Bhai in that article the only thing mentioned is No-Brain don't know how you categorised it with good brain.

Now Green Jit bhai i can see at JL majority is not Foul mouthed

Although the article was correctly said by you is about popular stereo type of India but don't you think these kind of articles will never let us change our image ,this article may consider as correct if it would have been written 30-40 years back but now a days i don't think the Jats are like this only they moving fast and improving fast. Improving in the sense of Way of talking(Foul language), Good Education and in almost every successfull field.
About the tone of talking Punjabi's can speek in Punjabi, Tamil in telgu but Jats can't , if they do so they will be considered as backword, ruthless, aggressive What a Rubbish!

'A car have to look like a car and a truck like a truck so a jat have to look like a jat' - Not everyone can agree with this statement !

Being a Jat doesnt means that you have to be tough looking & rough speaking all the times. :o Its good not to shy away from one's basics, but at the same time its very very important to take into cognisance the environment & people around !

One should mould his way of talking & expressions having regards to the crowd he is into. Why to unnessesary grab attention by speaking or behaving out of the way? For you it may be just being yourself, but for others it will be obviously awkward as they may not be used to such behaviour & speech.

If you know how to speak properly in hindi apart from knowing your regional language then its always better to speak in the language of the people around.

I am not talking about the cases of winning any fight or frightening someone as someone mentioned. In usual course, its good to acknowledge the likings of the people around. Use of regional language just for the sake of it isnt appreciable at all places.

And excuse me, how this question of 'know your strength and let the people follow you' arose? Does the way of speaking determines or depicts your strength anyhow? Strength is not in trying to intimidate anyone knowingly ! Strength is when people regard you as a person who is competent and at the same time is flexible in his ways. Just sticking to something which may sound unpleasant to the crowd at large is not anything to be proud about

Hope you wont understand :D

Answer is No then why you are asking us to change the way we speak???? Give me definition of flexibility. does that mean that you have to use soft words while you speak???? Are you flexible??? Using hindi or english doesn't mean you are flexible. Again read your statement and tell me that this is you flexible behaviour. Quinine is bitter but effect you know.

I hope you understand:D:D

I failed to understand that whether people are accepting it or denying it. Ironically, doing both.

At first, people trying to say that we are Jats and these are our basic traits to be aggressive and rude, while after few sentences start shouting ‘how dare they can write this type of views about us”.

If we are like this then just ignore it for the good and be happy that we have something in us which other communities don’t have. If we want to say and prove that we are not like this then just stop shouting about ‘we should look like Jats, behave like Jats, act like Jats’.

The way of speaking does not show your strength, but a 'not so fondly acceptable' way of speaking results in a discomfort to your audience.

Flexibility - you took it wrong. It means that if your target audience is uncomfortable with your speech, you must not go on using the same just because you find that it increases your 'Jatness' . If someone finds it not good (may be he or she doesnt mention this to you, but you can get the message from their facial expressions etc) then there is no harm in stop using that language for the time being.

Yes, I am very much flexible in my formal as well as informal communications ! Dont pass judgements on a person based on his or her written statements in a virtual world, else you will always end up getting wrong notions ! May be you arent able to comprehend what I exactly mean by saying a certain thing. And its not about using hindi or english obviously - there are lot more things that that form a person's communication.

Body language, way of speaking, dialect, tone, expression etc there are many such things which you cant feel in someone's written thoughts many a times !

Thanks for such telling such an important thing . I was unaware of this knowledge. Let us take an example jat people meet for a get togeather someone is speaking local language and someone is thinking that he is rude or typical jat or showing jatpana.
Jatland - A place where jats meet, an online home for jats.
Almost Everyone speaking in local tone or trying to speak like that. Why??????
Are they trying to tell that they are very strong??? no they are showing their jatpana.
in same way if jats meet and someone using same language others find themselves uneasy isn't it an irony????
Ghani angrezi ho li itna to mein angreza gelya bhi na bolya karta.
Madam baat isi hai sabka apna apna mat hai mera man-na hai ki jat jat hi rahe . Ghana soft spoken banan ke chakkar mein dhobi ke kutte aali halat ho jya hai. Log fer DALDA samjhan lag jya hain. Formal circle baat bata dyu ude aapki jaban nahi aapka kaam bolta hai. Agar aapme dimag hai aur apne kaam mein best hain to chahe loga ne gaal de dyo koye saans nahi pade ar aap apne kaam mein hi pichde hue hain to kutta nahi poochta.
Yu Jatram apne jatpane pe company ke pissa tein videsh ghum aaya ar yu e bolan ka tarika reh hai. Aur yu e agressive nature .
Aadmi ki jaban se jyada logo ko uska kaam nazar aata hai. Agar aap apne kaam mein mahir hain aur jaban ke kadwe to yakin maniye KHAMKHA ke saans nahi likadte.Aap kaam ke aache hain aur doosro ki sun ke apne aap ko flexible karte karte katti bange ho gaye to log aapko dabane mein kasar nahi chodte.
Aapko local language nahi aati lekin aapka attitude to wohi hai JATNESS ki mukhar to door tein e aa jya hai.
Virtual world wo jagah hai jahan log apne dabe hue arman bhi poore kar lete hain. Yahan aise log bahut hain jinko local language nahi aati lekin yahan sab kasuti haryanavi kaat jya hain.

Rekha can you plzz emphasize which Sunday (date) when this article was published and also if you can mention the page # plz.

As for the article and leaving a mark on how Jats (boys/girls) this is when and how we talk on this forum

How about Gujus (mostly chickens, cant say a word upfront) Biharis ( not much diff. from ^$#&**##^) and many more to compare looking at the different traits like life style, personality, eating habits, living standards.

TOI as per my opnion and also Chikara has mentioned....I dont need to say more.....is full of claptrap, errors, no relevant news

I am a proud JAT represnting my community anywhere I go and never heard anyone call me aggressive, foul mouthed, brawn or any issues using/having less gray matter... and I think we all need to prove and falsify the statements like these.

I didnt read all the thread....but browsed a few initial ones, where Bhavna Singh mentions that it goes well with budds in the formal/casual circle who know the dialect, but we shud be careful enough not to use language not understood or mistaken in a diverse gathering......not everybody understand our sense of humorology :) :p

But as Burdak ji said, we can get it clarified by TOI grp as to who/why this has been published !!

To all those, who feel even a tiny bit ashamed of being a jat due the above quoted reasons I have few words for you -- जाट ते इस्से होया करें , घन्न्खरी बात ते ठीक लिख राखी से (except brain aali baat) , आर जिसने अपने आप का जाट होना पसंद न हो वो फेर चूडा, चमार, धानक, झीमर बण जाओ | Rudeness, harsh language isn't acceptable at all socially or even if you are at home. So it's better to adapt ourself (incl me) according to the situation.

.....
That is the crux !

But some people are so adamant that they dont understand this simple thing

These are the people coz of which this so called image persists.

Nowadays, the Jats who are educated and sensible have come of age. They are refined, talented, polite & at the same time they are obviously a jat when it comes to their wits, un-compromising nature and strength of character ! :)

And they never over do this language thing just to show & prove God knows what :D

"They" are right Panney!! "Kudos" to "they"! And they has put very good "latttooo" in subject of your post!! kudos for that too :)

"We" is glad. :rock
